Marking the announcement, Amanda said: “Ever since I was made an honorary gay man in 2017, it has always been a dream of mine to host the Attitude Awards and I couldn’t think of a better person to co-host with than my dear friend Alan Carr.

“It’s so important right now that we come together and embrace this wonderfully diverse world we live in and accept everyone for who they are.” I can’t wait to be surrounded by the community as I play the gongs at this year’s ceremony.’

Alan added: “It’s been a mixed year for our LGBTKIA+ family, incredible progress has been made and yet some truly upsetting setbacks have brought us down to six, which only makes the Attitude Awards all the more important and essential.

“I’m thrilled to not only be hosting this evening, but to be doing it with one of my best friends Amanda! The wildest, funniest night in the LGBTQIA+ calendar just got a little more shiny!’

During the awards ceremony, there will also be a charity raffle to raise money for the Attitude Magazine Foundation, which benefits LGBTQ causes.

Attitude Publisher Darren Stiles OBE said: “The 12th annual Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar, are the biggest and brightest we’ve produced yet, at a time when the LGBTQ+ community needs standard bearers, role models and icons to step up. get up and go out like never before.

“We built this platform to celebrate and uplift, and we certainly will, but – as always – we don’t take our eyes off the reality of life around us.” We will show that diversity, inclusiveness and love are not platitudes to be spewed by an aggressive interior minister, but real, lived values of millions of real people.

And the winners? Everything will be revealed, but it is fair to say that we did not invite the Prime Minister. That’s common sense, the way he likes it.’
