My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart reveals she breastfed her own BROTHER at the request of her mom – as she compares her ultra-strict Jewish community to living in the 18th century: ‘It was a real mindf***’

My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart has admitted that she breastfed her own brother at her mother’s request.

The 52-year-old made the shocking revelation to Amanda Hirsch during the latest episode of the series Not skinny but not fat podcast.

Julia, who spent the first forty years of her life as part of the Haredi community – a strict group within Orthodox Judaism – in New York, is the eldest of seven siblings.

She candidly said to the host, “Do you want to get real? Do you want to hear a real mindf**k?’ I took care of my brother.”

Julia elaborated on the situation and revealed that there is a ten-year age gap between her and her closest sibling.

The fashion designer began: ‘My mother said, “Oh, you’re already breastfeeding your daughter, take this too.”

‘And that’s how I ended up taking care of my brother and my daughter. That’s a mindf**k.’

However, the entrepreneur seemed relatively unfazed as she reasoned, “Go back a few hundred years, everyone had a wet nurse, right? You didn’t nurse your own baby.’

Amanda responded that “we’re not talking about a hundred years ago,” but Julia replied, “Well, we are. That’s the community I lived in.

‘I lived in the 19th century. I always tell people I’m a time traveler. If you want to understand the world I lived in, go back to the 19th century. That is it. I was living an 18th century existence.’

The host asked when Julia doubted the beliefs she was raised with, to which she replied, “All my life, in silence.”

She continued, “But they had convinced me that I was somehow inherently flawed because I didn’t like the system.”

After abandoning her Jewish faith, Julia found love again in New York City with La Perla owner Silvio Scaglia, 64, whom she married in 2019 — but the couple have since split

The Netflix star was forced to marry Yosef Hendler, a man she barely knew, at the age of 19.

They had four children – Batsheva, Shlomo, Miriam and Aron – but she became increasingly depressed and suicidal.

Julia eventually left the community – where “women would rarely be seen and never heard” – in 2013 at the age of 42.

After abandoning her Jewish faith, Julia found love again in New York City with La Perla owner Silvio Scaglia, 64, whom she married in 2019.

Silvio soon appointed Julia CEO of his global management company, Elite World Group, which represents more than 4,000 models, actors, singers and artists.

But the couple was only married for two years before filing for divorce in December 2022.

The messy breakup has Julia accusing Silvio of threatening to kill her, but he has denied her claims.

She joked, “The man I was supposed to marry is a much nicer person than the man I chose. Go find out.’
