My Unorthodox Life Julia Haart’s estranged husband Silvio Scaglia is issued warrant for arrest after he failed to pay her $300,000 legal fees

An arrest warrant has been issued for ‘My Unorthodox Life’ star Julia Haart’s estranged husband, Silvio Scaglia, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

New York Supreme Court Justice Douglas E Hoffman took the extreme measure last week when he found Scaglia in contempt after he failed to appear in court on an agreed date.

Hoffman had ruled that Scaglia owed Haart $300,000 in legal fees, which he said were due by January.

But because no payment had been made and there was no indication that Scaglia had any intention of executing the order, Judge Hoffman called the couple back to court last week – a hearing at which Scaglia did not show up.

The former couple has been fighting it out in court for more than two years, in multiple lawsuits.

During that time, as reported by DailyMail.com, Haart, 53, accused Scaglia, 65, of being on a “crusade to destroy her” after she left him in January 2022.

He accused her of embezzling millions of dollars from Elite World Group (EWG), the modeling agency the couple once ran together – accusations for which he was unable to provide any evidence in court.

In return, she claimed that it was Scaglia who misspent corporate funds, using more than $20 million of corporate money as a personal slush fund to support a lifestyle of private jets, superyachts and even a $342,000 heart-shaped diamond engagement ring for to finance his new fiancée. Michelle Heinemann.

Now Scaglia is on the run from the law after Judge Hoffman lost patience over his inability to raise the $300,000 and missing two court dates: May 15 and June 5.

The court convicted him of criminal contempt on June 5 and set a sentencing date of June 13, a third date for which Scaglia failed to appear and for which his lawyers did not request a postponement.

As a result, he was sentenced to twenty days in jail and a warrant was issued for his arrest five days later, with no bail allowed.

Scaglia is believed to be in Milan, but according to the strict terms of the arrest warrant, he will be arrested on the spot – day and night – once he reaches US soil.

He must surrender his passport, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must revoke, and his driver’s license to the judge, making it crystal clear that the time for other legal remedies has passed.

In a further blow to the increasingly beleaguered self-described “billionaire,” Scaglia’s lawyer Robert Wallack stopped short last month citing an “irreparable rift” in the relationship between Scalgia and his firm.

He demanded that the apartment be put on the market or Haart would pay monthly transportation costs, which he estimated at nearly $170,000.

Haart starred in the hit Netflix series last year, which focused on her rise in the fashion industry after leaving her strict religious household at the age of 42.

Meanwhile, Haart’s attorney Nancy Chemtob of Chemtob Moss Forman & Beyda welcomed Judge Hoffman’s decision, saying her client felt “vindicated” by his actions.

She said, “Ma’am. Haart feels vindicated by Judge Hoffman’s decision to issue an arrest warrant against Mr. Silvio Scaglia.

‘Mr. Scaglia turned his nose up in court by failing to appear… knowing that Judge Hoffman would revoke his driver’s license and passport and find him in contempt of court, which would result in jail time. Mr. Scaglia is evading justice.”
