My sister-in-law demanded I dye my natural red hair black for her wedding – but what she did next was worse
A young woman is furious after her sister-in-law demanded she dye her red hair black for her wedding.
The young woman explained that the bride-to-be’s invitation came with a list of unpleasant demands.
In a post on Reddit, she explained that the problems started when her partner refused to be with the bride and groom.
He suffered from anxiety and didn’t think he was right for the job, but his sister, the bride, took it very personally.
“I was happy to receive the invitation and had a good relationship with the family, but I had no idea what it would entail,” she wrote.
After her partner refused to attend the wedding party for the second time, the young woman was told that she was still invited, but that she would not receive a dinner plate.
She should also dye her natural red hair black.
The bride also introduced a colored dress code, requiring guests to wear burnt orange or green.

Each new demand left the young woman feeling at odds with her family.
“She’s singling me out,” the young woman complained.
“The best I could do was a wig, but I’m honestly done with it now.”
People sent her comments full of support, calling the bride vindictive and unreasonable.
“So you’re invited but you have to dye your hair and they’re not going to feed you? That’s just plain trashy, she sounds like an absolute nightmare,” one woman said.
‘You obviously shouldn’t dye your hair for this woman. And don’t buy a burnt orange dress FFS… this woman is a piece of work,’ said another.
Others suggested going to the wedding with red hair “just to tease her” — or buying a ridiculous black Halloween wig.
Some felt she should come with a picnic basket, a pizza order or a McDonald’s takeout to make it clear she hadn’t been given enough to eat.
Others said it was no wonder the friend suffered from anxiety.
One man came up with the perfect revenge plan to put the bride in her place.
“I think you need to deal with this like an adult. No games. Invite them over for a nice dinner and discuss this face to face,” he said.
“But then you know… a few days before they come over, you let them know you don’t have enough food for her, and then everyone will eat except her,” he added.
Eventually the bride repealed the no-dinner rule, but her friend decided it was best to decline the invitation.
“She’s trying to convince you to go back without taking away the invitation… she’s way too old to be so childish,” one man said.
