My mom was having an affair with my boyfriend… and they would get intimate while I was in the ROOM with them

A woman has shared the devastating moment she found out her boyfriend was having an affair with her own mother.

Brooke, now 26, was 17 when she started dating her first boyfriend, whom she called M for the purposes of the story.

The California resident shared her story on the We’re All Crazy podcast.

She explained that M, who was 18, was a teammate of her brother’s and ended up spending a lot of time at the family home.

‘He was always at home with us, super close to our family. You know, it made me so happy that I could have a friend who wasn’t just in a great relationship [with me]but he had a great relationship with my brother and he got along great with my parents,” she admitted. “It just felt so good.”

Brooke said that, looking back on her relationship, she had naively ignored some of the warning signs that emerged.

“My mother was very attached to us right away,” she continued. “She was very supportive, wanting to do things with him, hang out and stuff like that, and sometimes even offer to come along and take us along.”

Brooke said she started to worry when her mother started buying outfits similar to the ones she was wearing and made a concentrated effort to look and act younger.

“She really got into her image at that point, trying to make herself look younger,” Brooke described.

“She emphasized her hair so it was bright blonde, just like mine, just like acting and putting herself forward as if she looked younger.”

Brooke noticed that her mother began seeking validation from her boyfriend as she strived for a more youthful appearance.

“When she was with us, she almost acted like she was one of us, like she was a coworker,” Brooke explained.

‘This is part of the relationship I had with my mother growing up – [she] was never really an emotional mother, she wanted to be my friend, she wanted to be on my level, she wanted to hang out with me.”

She also recalled how her mother would go places like “to the store” or “for a run” and come back in a “completely different mood.”

Brooke said she even went to her mother once for sex advice, which she gave her in detail.

She added that her mother would ask what she and M had done – noting again that while it seems strange now, she didn’t notice it at the time.

“I wouldn’t feel awkward telling my mom, ‘Hey, this happened,’ you know, because she was curious and interested in our relationship, so it just felt like you were telling your friend the details.” , she noted.

Brooke explained that when she noticed her mother acting suspiciously, it coincided with her parents going through a rough patch in their marriage.

And just a few days after Christmas, during her senior year of high school, things unraveled and the affair was exposed.

“I come home and I’m in the garage and my brother opens the door [and] he just stares at me and says, “M had sex with mom,” she said, admitting she didn’t notice when she first heard the news.

“I was like ‘you’re kidding me’, and I looked at him and I was like ‘don’t say that’, and he looked at me again and his expression didn’t change – it was just stone cold, and he says exactly the same thing.’

At that point, Brooke said her heart was pounding and her brother told her to call her father.

“I’m in total shock,” she admitted. ‘I’m so confused that it’s impossible that it just doesn’t make sense to me.”

Brooke called her father, who confirmed that what her brother said was true: her mother had slept with her boyfriend.

“I walked into that house and ran straight to my parents’ bedroom, where my mother was lying in a fetal position on the bed, absolutely sobbing hysterically,” she recalled of what happened next.

‘I ran in there [and] every curse word came out of my mouth throwing hands. I scolded her. I shouted at her.’

“I felt so destroyed and so betrayed and so confused and with every emotion you could imagine,” Brooke admitted, adding that all her feelings were amplified by the fact that her “own flesh and blood” was the one she was being exposed to. had to commit. action.

“I remember feeling so sad for my father that he had to be in the position of not only meeting his own needs, but mine as well.”

Brooke forced her mother to tell her about the affair, and she revealed where they had sex, including a local park, in the car and most importantly in their own home.

Brooke’s mother even admitted that they kissed while she was in the room recovering from having her wisdom teeth removed.

“She admitted to touching him and kissing him from behind [me] while I’m sitting on the couch. I mean, literally, a few feet behind me and I have no idea any of this was going on,” she said.

“He left my room and said good night… and on the way out he met her somewhere in my house and visited her.”

Brooke had six months left of high school, so she said she went into “survival mode” and actively tried to avoid her mother.

“I remember going back to school and I didn’t think it would be something that everyone knew about,” she painfully recalled.

‘But everyone knew [everyone’s] cases and stories spread like wildfire.”

Brooke added that the affair not only affected her, but also her siblings, who were taunted about it at school.

“My mom went to a therapist after this happened and she says her therapist told her that she was actually having a dissociative episode and she didn’t understand that what she was doing… wasn’t right, which I call complete bull**ga on and on,” she admitted.

Brooke said the experience made her act out in college, and she started partying and drinking a lot, and eventually started sleeping around.

“My entire existence depended on feeling wanted and feeling good, and I never looked at myself in the mirror and said, I need help.” “I need to address the pain this situation has caused,” she said.

After spending some time in therapy, Brooke said she has made great progress in coming to terms with the feelings of inadequacy she ignored after the incident.

Brooke’s parents are still married and she says their relationship has never been better.

‘A few years later, [I asked dad]“Why did you choose to stay with Mom?” and he said that when he got married, he made a vow, for better and for worse, all those things that I don’t think we take so seriously these days,” she shared.

“I really admired my dad when he said that, and he said, ‘I love you Mom, I know she really messed up, but I love your mom and I’m going to do what I can to stay committed to her.”

Brooke said she has put her relationship with her mother on the back burner for now, but processing her trauma has helped her become more vulnerable in many areas of her life.

“I don’t think I’ll ever really lose the scars that I got from her and that situation, but I’ve learned to make peace with a lot of things, I’ve learned to accept a lot of things and the positives in them,” she shared .
