My Kitchen Rules star JP Huillet welcomes a baby girl with his wife during ‘scary’ birth

JP Huillet is the proud father of a baby girl.

The former My Kitchen Rules star and his wife Lizzie welcomed their daughter early over the weekend at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Brisbane, and the delivery didn’t go to plan.

“She was supposed to be 18…she came a little early,” JP told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday.

“On Saturday, around 4 p.m., Lizzie passed out at home and we came to the hospital. Everything was fine and dandy – we had all the time in the world and the nurses were like, ‘Yeah, it’s probably going to happen on Sunday or Monday morning,'” he said.

“And then probably within a minute the baby’s heart rate actually dropped.” It turned into a sort of quick emergency C-section.

“So Lizzy was thrown out of the room extremely quick and fast. We probably had 10 doctors immediately rush into the room to help her and get everything sorted. It was like, go, go, go. Yes, it was intense.’

JP continued: “That was probably the scariest night of my life. I have never experienced anything like that.

“It was just supposed to be a natural birth.” And it was an absolute emergency because the baby’s heart rate was dropping.

‘It was actually crazy. Because when we kind of got into the delivery room, the nurse said, “Okay, Lizzie. What’s your birth plan? What do you want to do?” And she was saying, “The epidural… Hopefully we can push and do all of that.” And then, literally, within two minutes, everything changed.’

He continued: “From the time Lizzie was taken out of the room until the baby was born, it was literally three minutes. So they took her out of the room, and while they were taking her out, they undressed her.

“On Saturday, somewhere around 4 p.m., Lizzie passed out at home and we came to the hospital. Everything was nice and cool. And then probably within a minute the baby’s heart rate actually dropped. It turned into a sort of quick emergency C-section,’ he said

“I was probably in the room maybe two or three minutes without anybody saying anything to me.” And that was the longest time of my life. I thought, “What the fuck is going on?” Like, this is crazy,” he said

“That was at 21.07. And then at 21:10 the camera nurse said “Your baby is born, it’s perfect. It’s beautiful. Beautiful and healthy.” She cried as soon as she came out, which is good – he added

“I didn’t even get to wear it.” I wasn’t in the room with her or anything. They just rushed her out. I somehow stayed in this empty room that was dark. And I was like, “What’s going on?” I didn’t know what was going on.

JP says the couple hopes to have more children in the future.

‘I’m an only child. And Lizzie has brothers and sisters. I know he wants more. And I’m always satisfied with one. I think she definitely wants another one.

“But this was definitely a scary moment. Now she’s like, “Yeah, probably one is enough.”

Nelly and her husband Adriano Zumbo welcomed a son last week.

The dessert king, 41, and the reality star, 32, announced the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday night, sharing a precious black and white photo.

JP and Nellie split in 2016 and she married Zumbo in 2022.
