The video also shows a close-up of Colin’s left leg, which appears to have a cut and some bruising around the knee joint.

Colin also posted another story showing him sitting on a bus after the accident, with the caption: ‘When you fall down an open drain into shit and everyone thinks it’s funny.’

This happened after Colin had a terrible accident while on holiday earlier this year.

The chef rushed to hospital in January during a family vacation in Thailand.

The MKR judge was with his wife Jane and their two daughters Lily, 14, and Maeve, 12, at the time.

He later described his experiences on Instagram.

In the video, Colin says he tore his leg while he and one of his daughters were kayaking.

“The Fassnidge party is never really a Fassnidge party unless there’s a bit of drama,” he began.

“Today we were in a kayak – me, myself and my daughter. We both fell off and I couldn’t get back in. So I decided to push my daughter to the side to save her because we were miles, miles, miles away.”

His daughters then joined in and said the story was ‘fake’. His wife Jane said the water was ‘knee-deep’ but Colin continued.

“I’m telling the real story… and when I pushed my daughter in because I saved her life, it was so far away… It wasn’t shallow, it was deep and I saved your life… I scraped my leg on an oyster shell, which split it all the way open,” he added.

“Even the guy behind the counter was throwing up,” Colin continued. “But I have to say, kudos to the hospital. It was packed… Of course I paid cash, so I got straight through. But they took such good care of me.”

The chef then showed off his stitched wound, which he said required ten stitches, before being brutally beaten by his family.

“I just want to say that I didn’t get any love from any woman in my house. I had to take a taxi myself, basically patch myself up. And that’s today’s news from Thailand,” he said.

“You made a mountain out of a molehill,” said his wife Jane, who called him a “baby elephant” who struggled to climb back into the capsized kayak.

Colin recently joined the cast of Better Homes and Gardens for 2024.

He replaces outgoing chef and presenter ‘Fast Ed’ Halmagyi, who left Channel Seven’s lifestyle program in 2023 after 20 years.

In 2024 he will continue to present My Kitchen Rules together with Manu Feildel.
