Just one day later Shrink season 2 was released on Apple TV Plus, the critically acclaimed comedy has been renewed for a third season. It’s the perfect distraction while I wait for a possible one Ted Lasso season 4 renewal.
The news was announced Thursday (October 17) at New York Comic Con, where creators Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein, along with other members of the Shrink cast, appeared for a special discussion about the new season.
Lawrence said in a statement to Variety: “I’m so lucky that I get to work on it Shrink with actors, writers and a crew so talented that they all take the material to the next level. I’m even luckier that they are people I would want to spend time with anyway. Big thanks to Apple TV+ and Warner Bros. for the great cooperation and support. So grateful that we get to keep making this show. Forward!”
What is Shrinking season 2 about?
One of the best parts of Shrink is Harrison Ford as Jimmy’s colleague and gruff emotional confidante Dr. Paul Rhodes. Both seek to help their clients cope with love and loss while grappling with their own personal struggles. While Jimmy continues to try to cope with the immense grief of losing his wife Shrink Season 2, Paul faces his own hardships as he tries to come to terms with his Parkinson’s diagnosis and what it means for the future of his practice.
Shrink It also stars Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Meanwhile, season two also features a guest appearance from Goldstein following his starring role as Roy Kent Ted Lasso.
Even though it all sounds doom and gloom, Shrink is actually a light-hearted watch, covering poignant moments with plenty of humor and heart. The exciting announcement of a season 3 renewal is yet another reminder that I need to start watching Shrink season 2 as soon as I get home.
The first two episodes of the final season are available to watch now on one of the top streaming services, with new episodes premiering every Wednesday until December 25th, so that’s Christmas sorted! In the meantime, check out these 4 similar comedy dramas with over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
