My boyfriend went on a boys trip and I woke up to this text in the morning: ‘I need to tell you something’

A young woman has revealed the series of disturbing text messages she woke up to while her boyfriend was on a boys trip.

The young woman, who posted anonymously on Reddit, revealed that the messages that started with “Oh man, I have something to tell you” made her heart flutter.

The next message ‘I f***ed up’ made her panic.

But she remained calm and simply wrote ‘wut (What?)’.

And the young man’s joke was slowly revealed.

He wrote: ‘I got hammered.

‘And I.

“I delivered a lot of presents for you.”

The woman simply replied, “Omg.”

“He’s just the best, but he got me in the first half,” she wrote alongside a screenshot of the text.

The young woman explained that she trusts her partner, but hundreds of people claimed the exchange was a huge red flag.

“How much time passed between those messages?” one commenter asked.

While others were much more forthcoming with their suspicions.

“To soften the blow in case you find out about the whores and the cocaine,” one person claimed.

Some said that even if the text messages were a trick, it was still a warning sign.

“Telling your partner ‘I need to tell you something’ and ‘I screwed up’ while you’re traveling is a quick way to send your partner into a panic attack, thinking you’re going to say ‘you slept with someone’ , someone said.

‘Of course it’s the regular Redditors who think there’s nothing wrong with this. Messing with your partner is one thing, making him think you cheated on him is bullshit.”

Others said not to believe in the gifts until they arrived.

‘Have you received the presents yet? My boyfriend also lies to me when I’m out of town. He says he’s going to buy me things, but when I get home there’s nothing.’

But some were very happy for her.

‘This is beautiful, I was so stressed. What a thoughtful man,” one said.

“These are relationship goals,” said another.

‘Love it!! A man who really loves you enjoys his friends, but you are much more fun for him. I love this. He couldn’t wait to get home and see you,” a third added.

The young woman updated the post when her presents arrived.
