A woman in New Zealand tried to sue her boyfriend after he failed to take her to the airport as scheduled, causing her to miss a flight and a concert.
The woman, who was not named in the Disputes Committee ruling, had arranged for her partner of six years to drop her off for her flight, but he never arrived. Stuff reported.
She missed her plane and had to travel the next day.

The couple also agreed that he would care for her dogs while she was away, but he did not do so.
The woman took the man to the tribunal and claimed that their agreement for a lift to the airport was a legally binding contract.
She hoped to be able to claim the travel expenses the next day, as well as the costs of housing her dogs in kennels.
Tribunal referee Krysia Cowi rejected the woman’s claims, saying: ‘Partners, friends and colleagues make social agreements, but these are unlikely to be legally enforceable unless the parties perform an act that demonstrates an intention to be bound by their commitments .
“If friends don’t keep their promises, the other person may suffer financial consequences, but he or she may not be compensated for that loss.”
The couple is no longer together.
