My 15-hour first class flight NIGHTMARE: I had hair and ‘things’ moving in my compartment, the entertainment system was broken, and there was no tablecloth over my nuts on US flight to India

A traveler was left disgusted after taking a luxury first-class flight only to face filthy conditions on the nightmare plane.

Anip Patel paid £4,700 to fly from Chicago to Delhi in style, but when he boarded the Boeing 777 he was stunned to discover clumps of hair in various crevices, torn furniture and dirt-covered seats.

The disgruntled passenger took out his phone to capture the grim conditions in what he thought would be a glamorous first-class compartment, but instead captured surfaces covered in layers of mold and a broken TV.

According to Patel, the on-board entertainment during the 15-hour flight was broken and the food seemed average at best – with old-looking samosas and lumpy soup.

He said, ‘Look how dirty this is, there was hair and things moving in every compartment.

The aircraft furniture appeared torn and torn

‘Everything was torn, destroyed or had mold on it. I understand normal wear and tear, but this was next level, guys.”

Patel admitted the onboard menu was ‘promising’ but claimed 30 per cent of the food was unavailable.

He added: “They only had one of each item and there were four of us in the whole hut. And it was basically first come, first served.”

In his creepy clip, viewers were stunned to see thick black dirt clogging the ventilation system and mysterious stains on the seat covers.

The irate passenger also complained about the lack of Wi-Fi and the broken in-flight entertainment system, which the crew was unable to fix, leaving him with nothing to do for the entire flight.

Patel said: ‘It was a nightmare. I was robbed on this flight.”

He later said in an update that Air India had offered him a full refund for the bad experience.

He said, “I didn’t complain to Air India, but through social media they saw this video. They called me today and refunded my entire flight. They made it right and it’s worth mentioning.’

Air India was ranked 103rd out of 350 airlines in 2023 by the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The national carrier rose slightly to 90th position in 2024, but still lags far behind the top airlines worldwide in terms of passenger experience and service quality.
