Musician’s fury as Jetstar hands back his prized guitar case looking like THIS – despite pinning on a note asking staff to treat it with care
A musician has been left furious by what he claims was damage to his guitar case by Jetstar baggage handlers.
The musician, who asked not to be named, posted photos of his destroyed prized possession on Facebook this week.
He claimed it went down during a flight from Melbourne to Launceston in Tasmania.
The damage occurred despite the fact that he had written them a special note in which he politely asked them to take extra care of the valuable luggage.
In photos shared online, large chunks of the exterior of the case were gouged away, including the latch to close it, and cracks were visible almost along its entire length.

The musician also showed off the note he placed on the case that read, “Please take care of me” and “This instrument is my income” with two hand-drawn smiley faces.
“I’m almost in awe of the damage to my business,” the man told Seven News.
“I think it has to do with the large containers they put on the planes, and maybe the fact that they don’t have their own crew.”
Jetstar told Seven News it had offered to reimburse the passenger for the cost of a new suitcase and the tape he had to buy to hold the damaged suitcase together.

The damage was done despite the fact that the man had posted a message asking the handlers to take extra care of the instrument
Despite this, the passenger said he would never fly Jetstar again.
Those who responded to the post also expressed outrage at the damage.
“As someone who always flies with a guitar, this is terrifying,” one person wrote.
“That’s serious assault.”
“It seems like it’s intentional,” someone else wrote, while another picked up the same theme, saying, “They saw this as a challenge.”
‘There’s something wrong. It looks like it was run over by a Sherman tank. Hmmm,” wrote another.
