Florida Highway Patrol dashcam footage showed officers approaching Ovi’s Lamborghini Urus and pointing their guns at him. He was dragged from the car and thrown to the ground.

The 27-year-old was charged Wednesday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful display of a firearm and possession of a narcotic drug.

He appeared before a judge on Wednesday and his bail was set at $6,500 on Wednesday, but U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) imposed an immigration hold, which means a suspect must be held for 48 hours until the agency can take him or her into custody.

DailyMail.com has reached out to ICE for comment.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Ovi was driving his McLaren through West Miami-Dade on Monday afternoon when he nearly collided with Giuseppe Benigni while changing lanes.

A video taken by Benigni shows Ovi aiming his gun out the driver’s window.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the singer Ovi pulled a gun and threatened me here in Miami,” Benigni wrote in the Instagram post. “I’m driving and I see a car drive by in front of me, a McLaren. I honk because he almost hit me and as I honk he pulls over and pulls a gun.”

Benigni, a model, feared that Ovi would shoot him and therefore posted a clip of the disturbing incident on his Instagram account.

“How can these people who call themselves artists and singers commit crimes and still threaten you and point their guns at you?” he said. “What would have happened if they had shot him, if they had really shot me?

‘I don’t understand those people who become artists and then want to become criminals. They want to become criminals and threaten people on the street.’

Ovi had a gun in his waistband when police stopped the Lamborghini Urus he was driving, the police report said. Officers found a backpack in the vehicle containing two Percocet pills.

Police found a Taser in the floor of the SUV and a male passenger also had one in his waistband.

The shooting incident is not the first time Ovi has come into contact with the law.

He was arrested in March 2022 after allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend while she was carrying their newborn son.

In December 2021, he was also arrested after a fight with reggaeton singer Manny La Figura outside a jewelry store.
