Police urged residents to stay away from surrounding areas, including Yaraki Court and Pine River Drive.

The Queensland Ambulance Service has not yet confirmed whether anyone required treatment as a result of the incident, as police evacuated residents in the area.

When emergency services arrived on scene, the home and garage were already engulfed in flames.

Images showed thick plumes of smoke coming from the burned-out building.

The explosion destroyed the mansion and the force sent debris across the street.
