A would-be car thief was thwarted by a hilarious alarm that shouted ‘Surprise motherf*****!’ called out. when a robber approaches.
Security footage from a home in Murrumba Downs in south-east Queensland shows a mysterious man stalking two cars parked in a driveway.
The criminal fails to open the door of the first car before making his way to the second vehicle.
But he is so shocked by the peculiar alarm from the popular American crime drama series Dexter that he runs away in shock.
The words are famously spoken by one of the show’s characters, Sergeant James Doakes, who is played by actor Erik King.
It’s just the latest tactic desperate residents of crime-ridden communities in the Sunshine State must come up with to protect their processions.
Large parts of the state struggle with high rates of theft and violent crime, particularly among juvenile offenders.
Last month, three women were killed in a car crash involving a Mercedes-Benz reportedly stolen from a property in Maryborough, 165 miles north of Brisbane.
The suspected driver – a 13-year-old boy – has been charged with three counts of dangerous driving resulting in death.
Another boy, 13, is charged with helping steal the vehicle and has also been charged.

So startled by the peculiar alarm from the popular American crime drama series Dexter, the mysterious man runs away in shock.
An April Compare the Market survey found that 12 percent of Sunshine State residents will have their car stolen at some point in their lives, with car thefts rising nine percent over the past year.
The national average is only seven percent.
Assaults and other violent crimes are also on the rise, and in March Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk’s government reintroduced breaching bail as a separate juvenile offense after it was abolished in 2015.
Since then, more than 70 offenders have been charged.
