‘Murderess’ LA socialite Rebecca Grossman told cops she’d struck something with her Mercedes on night she killed two young brothers – despite trying to blame her secret lover, court hears

The LA socialite accused of killing two young brothers admitted to police that she hit something with her Mercedes SUV, despite trying in court to blame the death on her baseball player lover.

An LA County sheriff’s deputy testified in court Wednesday that mangled pieces of a white Mercedes were found at the scene of the collision that killed brothers Jacob and Mark Iskander, ages eight and 11, on September 29, 2020 .

Car debris found at the intersection matched the white Mercedes SUV that Grossman raced down Triunfo Canyon Road near Saddle Mountain Drive that evening, Deputy Rafael Mejia told jurors.

Grossman and her boyfriend, Scott Erickson, a former Dodgers pitcher, drove through the intersection after getting drinks at a local restaurant, according to prosecutors.

Court records show Grossman’s SUV stopped three-tenths of a mile from the marked crosswalk.

Mejia found Grossman a short distance from the accident scene, next to her damaged Mercedes.

“She told me her car had been disabled by Mercedes-Benz and her airbags had gone off, and she didn’t know what was going on,” Mejia said.

“She said she hit something, but she didn’t know what she hit.”

The luxury vehicle was disabled by its safety system because its airbags deployed, court records show.

A Mercedes operator called the vehicle after it was disabled and contacted a 911 operator who asked if the inflated airbags were related to a nearby accident involving children.

Mejia testified that he noticed a “blood splatter” on Grossman’s car, but admitted that he did not have the material analyzed.

The deputy testified that Grossman begged him to let her husband, Dr. Peter Grossman, who heads the Grossman Burn Center, called — because her husband could “help the kids.”

Mejia also said Grossman “had the odor of alcohol coming from her body.”

Grossman was initially arrested in September after crashing her Mercedes into brothers Mark and Jacob Iskander, 11 and 9, in Westlake Village, California.

Wednesday’s dramatic revelations came after an equally intense day in court on Tuesday, in the middle of Grossman’s murder trial.

On Tuesday, a disturbed eyewitness recalled the moment they saw a little boy flying into the air as he was fatally struck by a speeding Mercedes.

Jack Sands recalled the horrific moment he saw Rebecca Grossman allegedly hit Mark Iskander and his brother Jacob with her white Mercedes in September 2020.

He told a Los Angeles court on Tuesday: ‘The black car tried to avoid the children by moving out of the way. But the white car was only a few meters behind me. I saw the white car hit one of the boys. I saw it fly to the right side of the road.”

Earlier on Tuesday, a graphic photo of the crumpled, lifeless body of a young boy was shown in court, causing the child’s mother to run from the courtroom in tears.

“My Markie,” Nancy Iskander sobbed as she stood up and fled the Van Nuys courthouse after being confronted with the traumatic sight of her 11-year-old son Mark lying dead in the road after the crash that also killed her son Jacob, 8 , was killed.

The murder trial got off to a stormy start Friday, with prosecutors and the defense arguing over what the jury could hear — and the defense claiming that an associate of the suspect “hid in the bushes” after the killings.

Prosecutors allege the married socialite had a drunken lunch with her former LA Dodgers star lover, Scott Erickson, before getting into her Mercedes SUV and fatally hitting the two boys in Westlake Village.

Grossman’s defense said in their opening statements Friday that they plan to show that it was Erickson — who was driving a separate vehicle at the time of the crash, after their lunch — who struck and killed the boys.

She remains married to famed plastic surgeon Dr. Peter Grossman, who has been filmed holding his wife’s hand as she arrives in court each day.
