Mum’s the word! Kate showed off her motherly skills with Charlotte at Wimbledon
Kate Middleton showed off her close bond with Princess Charlotte on the tiny royal family’s first official trip to Wimbledon yesterday.
The Princess of Wales, 41, was joined by the eight-year-old and her husband the Prince, 41, and her eldest son Prince George, nine, at the All England Club for the men’s final on Sunday.
Both George and his younger sister jumped for joy to celebrate Carlos Alcaraz’s maiden Wimbledon title in the heart-stopping five-set epic against Novak Djokovic.
Meanwhile, Charlotte was seen applauding cutely as she gazed in awe at the world number one.
And her close bond with her mother was also on display during the game yesterday, when Kate stroked her face and leaned forward to talk to her.

Arriving at SW19 with her husband and two children, the Princess of Wales told Ella Ottaway, who heads the youth program at the All England Club: ‘It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year. They watched with excitement.
“Charlotte, you’ve mastered scoring. Louis was very upset that he wouldn’t come today.’
Princess Charlotte wore a £169 dress from Spanish brand Friki to the final.
Kate often dresses George, Charlotte and her youngest Prince Louis, five, in British brands, so perhaps Charlotte’s Spanish dress was a hint as to who her favorite tennis player of the match was.
On her first-ever visit to the Wimbledon Championships, Charlotte chatted with Mu’awwiz Anwar, who conducts the pre-match coin toss.
The eight-year-old presented Mu’awwiz with the coin he will use to decide which finalist serves first in the final.
Meanwhile, Kate had watched as Charlotte met police dog Stella and petted the springer spaniel, who will retire next year when she turns nine.
As the family entered Center Court, Kate walked hand in hand with Princess Charlotte, who seemed to be beaming with excitement.
The Little Royal pulled one cool £21 pink sunglasses as she sat with her brother and parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, grinning as she marveled at well-fought points.
But sometimes the princess would sink into her chair and look like she couldn’t bear to watch the game.

George and Charlotte were tense during the final which saw Alcaraz eventually claim the winner’s trophy and prize money of £2.35 million.
At one point, George was seen putting his head in his hands after a near miss. Dressed in a blue suit and tie, the heir to the throne often leaned over to discuss parts of the match with his father beside him.
The two siblings cheered with their fists in the air as Alcaraz, 20, claimed a 3-2 win in a match that seemed impossible.
Their mother, the Princess of Wales, beamed as she congratulated the 20-year-old Spaniard and presented him with his trophy – holding him up emotionally for the crowd who had supported him throughout the nearly five-hour match.
Louis, the youngest member of the family, was unhappy that he couldn’t join them despite practicing as a ball boy this year.
It’s been a busy few days for Princess Charlotte and the rest of the Wales’s who visited the Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford on Friday.

Princess Charlotte explored a C17 plane along with her brothers and parents, Kate and Prince William, during the outing.
The little royal was dressed in a £39 black and white striped Rachel Riley dress that she last wore at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
During Friday’s engagement, Princess Charlotte listened intently and stayed close to her parents.
However, she was led astray by her little brother – who was perplexed by something he had seen on the plane’s roof.
Prince George was dressed in green chinos and a short-sleeved shirt on the tour, while his younger brother looked adorable in a navy blue jumper and matching shorts.
Both Charlotte and Louis looked adorable in their matching navy sneakers as they braved the rain.
Looking typically chic, Kate opted for a statement beige Blaze Milano blazer with a white blouse and tailored blue pants as she scouted a plane.
