Mum’s horror after discovering why lovers of ‘rare fetish’ were stalking her small online business

A young mother and business owner has revealed her horror after discovering a rare fetish shared by several people who follow her social media accounts.

Imogen Shepherd, who runs a cloth nappy business, shared images of children in nappies online – including images of her own child, noting a strange group of followers started interacting with her.

Ms Shepherd was told about the online accounts that were following her social media pages by one of her clients.

The accounts appeared to be channels dedicated to users with a fetish known as paraphilic infantilism, which refers to a form of sexual arousal from being a baby.

The term specifically refers to people who are sexually aroused by wearing diapers.

Ms Shepherd uploaded a video to her TikTok page detailing her shocking discovery after clicking on the links to these accounts.

“It (the accounts) was pretending to be like another mum and bub site or whatever,” she said.

“It was all just pictures of… adults pretending to be babies in diapers.

Ms Shepherd said the images showed pictures of men and women dressed as young babies wearing nappies, dummies and bibs.

Ms Shepherd urged parents to be careful about posting pictures of their children on social media after she made the disgraceful discovery.

“It made me sick to my stomach,” she said.

“This is a complete fetish for some adults.

“You have to be so careful what you post online, when you’re posting your kids, because you have no idea what could be sexualized with someone else.

“Babies in weird diapers” are sexualized by some and end up on the wrong side of the internet, so please don’t post this.”

Sexologist Emma Duncan told him Yahoo fetish is very rare and is not the same as pedophilia.

“Paraphilic infantilism has nothing to do with fantasizing or dishonoring children,” Ms. Duncan said.

“There’s no danger in it, unless you’re worried about practicing it, or if it starts to hurt yourself or someone else.”

When she learned of the accounts that appeared to be from those with the strange fetish, Ms. Shepherd said Yahoo she didn’t want to sit idly by, knowing that she was aware of these online activities.

“I wanted to post content that warned parents about the dangers of their kids posting,” she said.
