Moms love an ultra-cheap Kmart buy that makes worn-out kids’ toys and sweaters look like new again.

Shoppers have found an alternative use for the retailer’s $3.25 Slicker Wooden Pet Brush, normally for detangling matted fur on cats or dogs.

A mother ‘revived’ her 10-year-old daughter’s beloved cuddly bunny she had slept with every night since birth using the handy gadget.

She’d run the tattered and ragged bunny through the wash to remove the grime, but it wasn’t until she brushed it off with the Kmart brush that it looked sparkling clean.

Other parents love the brush and shared the household items they used it on, from fleece sweaters to fluffy couch cushions.

Kmart pet brush comes to the rescue. Reviving the children’s beloved Jellycat bunnies,” the Melbourne mother wrote in a after to the Kmart Home Décor and Hacks Australia Facebook page.

“The kids sleep with them every night and they’ve been doing that since they were born. My eldest daughter’s is now 10 years old, but now it looks brand new again.’

She had soaked the stuffed bunnies overnight and then put them in the washing machine before using the pet brush.

“Omg gotta try this. Our bunny looks worse than yours,” one mother wrote.

‘Thanks for sharing. I’ve been trying to get ours right for ages, now I’m going to try this brush,” replied a second.

“Omg never in my life have I loved a hack more!!!” added a third.

However, not all children wanted their stuffed animals to go through the transformation.

My daughter is also very attached to her Jellycat bunny. I just showed her this and asked if she wanted me to brush her rabbit too. She said no, she wants hers to be “old and special.” Good thing I asked!’ laughed a parent.

“Would someone else’s kid break down if we took their rabbit’s ‘beloved’ fur? We bought a backup for my son in case he was smaller. He felt the difference in softness and always chose his old rabbit,’ said another woman.

“I decided to pull out my daughter’s ‘oodie’ to try and spice up the Sherpa bottom of it in preparation for the colder weather. I have to say I’m quite pleased!’ said a mother in a previous one after.

“It takes a while but my daughter likes to do them on her own as she thought it was quite a fun activity to do,” she added.

Others had brushed their sheepskin rugs and fluffy couch cushions, and the budget purchase reported impressive results.

Best tool ever!! Have a look at how I clean my carpet of cat hair now,” said one pet owner.

“I used it on my deep pile rug! Looks brand new after I’m done with the brush,” replied another.
