Mum spends £7,500 on getting dream body in Turkey

A mother has revealed how she transformed her body by traveling to Turkey to undergo a ‘mummy makeover’ surgery.

Danielle Gross, 29, from Skegness, used to eat bread for every meal and guzzle five cans of Pepsi a day, but now feels more confident than ever and loves to show off her new dream body in stylish form-fitting clothes and crop tops.

The mother-of-two traveled to Turkey in May 2022 to have a £2,500 gastric sleeve fitted after always feeling like the ‘fat friend’ in her group and hating not being able to swap clothes with her friends.

Danielle always knew in the back of her mind she wanted even more surgeries, so after she shed around the 6th, she went back to Turkey for a “mummy makeover,” which included a breast lift and augmentation and an abdominoplasty, which totaled cost £5,000.

Now weighing in at around 8, she couldn’t be happier with her new body, and says she feels like a totally new person after living as “the big friend.”

Danielle added: ‘I have PCOS and have always had trouble gaining and losing weight. I was always the tallest in my friendship group and I was around 15th at my tallest.

“To be honest, I’ve been on a constant diet since I was about ten years old. I couldn’t get pregnant naturally, so I had to take hormones that made me gain weight, and I couldn’t lose it after that.

“I was obsessed with bread and cans of Pepsi. I would have bread for all my meals all day, and even a piece of bread with my dinner to mop up any gravy.

“It would be bagels for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and tiger bread for my dinner. It was my downfall. I was also addicted to Pepsi, and I would easily have five cans a day and I would get stressed if we were running low at home.

“I also loved sweet treats, especially when I sat down to watch TV at night. I would snack on donuts, chocolate multi-packs, and ice creams. I couldn’t go past the fridge without getting something to eat.

“I was so miserable and fed up. So after seeing a post about gastric sleeves on Facebook, I looked into it further and decided this is what I was going to do.

‘I impulsively booked the surgery in Turkey for May last year, so I didn’t have much time to think about it. I just wanted to go for it.

‘I paid £2,500 for the surgery and within the first week I lost 19 pounds after having 80 per cent of my stomach removed. By the time a few months had passed, I had dropped six stones and was ready to think about more surgeries.

“I always knew I wanted to have more surgeries as I was desperate for a breast augmentation ever since I breastfed my children, Stanley, seven, and Elsie May, five. I also had a “mum tum” after two cesarean sections.

‘So I booked to go back to Turkey in January for a mummy makeover, which cost £5,000 for a breast lift and augmentation and tummy tuck.

“I wasn’t that nervous about going back to Turkey for the second time because I knew what to expect this time. I had a great experience in Turkey. The hospital rooms were like hotels and I felt I had so much more attention than in the UK.

It’s also so much better value for money. I was quoted £9K to have my breasts done in the UK. A tummy tuck would have cost me around £12,000, and the gastric sleeve would have also cost me around £12,000.

“I’d like to have a nose job.”

Danielle admits that she is spending more money than ever before on new clothes to show off her new figure.

However, she is now more proud of her appearance because when she was bigger she didn’t care how she looked because she didn’t feel well.

Danielle said, “When I woke up after my plastic surgery, I was desperate to see myself.

“I couldn’t wait to see my new body after hating the way I looked for so long.

“I love getting ready in the morning now because I can put on whatever I want and I know it will look good.

“I can handle tight outfits and crop tops, and I don’t even have to wear a bra anymore. I could never have done this before because my breasts would have fallen to my stomach.

Danielle’s pre-surgery diet

BREAKFAST: Two bagels with cheese spread, ham, tomatoes and a can of Pepsi.

LUNCH: White bread sandwich with sandwiches and a packet of crisps, and another can of Pepsi.

DINNER: Huge roast dinner with slices of tiger spread to mop up the gravy.

SNACKS: Donuts, chocolates, chips, ham, ice cream, more Pepsi

Danielle’s diet after surgery

BREAKFAST: Half a sandwich or mini croissant.

LUNCH: Half a sandwich with the crusts off, or chicken skewers.

DINNER: Sausage and mash, but a small portion with a spoonful of mash, two carrot slices and a sausage.

SNACKS: Half a Wispa chocolate bar and a small portion of ice cream.

“Before, I could never find clothes I liked, but now I can go into any store or order online from anywhere and know it will fit me and look good.

“I feel like a new person now. I would avoid having my picture taken with friends and family, and would never be able to join in if my friends shared clothes, but now I don’t mind being front and center in photos and love to share clothes with my friends.

“I still eat all the foods I love now, but I only have to have small portions because my appetite is so small after my stomach churning.”

“I now have half a chocolate bar or a quarter of a donut, instead of eating a multipack of chocolate or a few donuts.”
