A mother overcame another parent’s resistance after inviting the entire class to her daughter’s birthday party, except for the student who was bullying her.
on reddit the 28-year-old mother said her daughter Payton was excited about her seventh birthday next month and 20 children were invited.
“The student we didn’t invite has bullied her several times (we’ve had conversations with the school and parents). It’s clear Payton doesn’t want this kid at her party,” the mother wrote.
The bully’s mother then contacted Payton’s mother to score an invitation.

“The other girl’s mother called me to talk about it and said her daughter is crying now, she was the only child who wasn’t invited and everyone at school is talking about the party. (Payton’s parties are known to her classmates for being very exaggerated),’ the mother wrote.
“I explained that her daughter isn’t nice to my daughter and that’s why she wasn’t invited (the mother knows this).
“The mother said I teach my child to be a ‘bully’ and use her wealth to make friends. I didn’t agree.’
Payton’s mother wouldn’t come to an agreement that allowed the bully to attend the party.
“The mother then asked if she would apologize to her daughter and write Payton a letter for us to reconsider,” she said.
“I told her we wouldn’t and it’s become a big problem every time I see the mother.”
After sharing the situation with thousands on Reddit, she asked ‘am I the bastard?’, and the majority were on her side.

“Your daughter has every right to feel safe at her party,” commented one person.
“You teach your daughter to set boundaries when someone is mean, and you teach her daughter that actions have consequences,” said another.
A third added: “Her kid bullied yours, so of course Payton doesn’t want her there. This is a great time for the bully’s mother to teach them that actions have consequences.”
Another said: ‘Forced apologies are not helpful in any situation. The other mother has to move on.’
