Mum shares her simple trick to remove wrinkles from clothes that have been in the dryer too long – but not everyone thinks it worked

  • Mama Carolina McCauley shared how she removes wrinkles from clothes with ice
  • While many were impressed with the hack, others said it didn’t work this time

A mom and self-proclaimed “home hacks queen” has shared her simple trick for removing wrinkles from clothes that have been in the dryer a little too long, but not everyone thinks it worked.

Carolina McCauley, from Perth, has built up a massive Instagram following of over 2.6 million people thanks to her handy home tricks and cleaning tips.

In her latest video, the Perth mom said you just need to put three or four ice cubes in the dryer with your clothes in the dryer and put them on a quick dry cycle.

The cubes melt, creating moisture and creating a steam-like effect that smoothes out wrinkles and makes clothes wrinkle-free.

“How to Remove Wrinkles from Clothes Left in the Dryer Overnight,” Carolina posted in her video.

“Next time you forget to put laundry in your dryer, throw 3-4 ice cubes in your dryer with your clothes and let it dry for 10 minutes.”

Carolina added, “No more wrinkles,” as she held up one of the tops that had remained wrinkled and creased after a night in the dryer.

Thousands who saw the simple trick quickly thanked Carolina for sharing it and said they would try it.

However, many also said that the T-shirt she was demonstrating with was not a good example of wrinkle-free clothing.

“In what world is that wrinkle-free?” one person wrote.

“Is it just me or are there still wrinkles?” added another.

While many were impressed by the trick, not everyone thought it left clothes wrinkle-free (pictured opposite)

According to experts, the trick often works because when ice and heat combine, it creates steam — turning your dryer into a tiny steamer.

The trick works best if you’re only trying to cut down on one or two garments, but if the dryer is overcrowded, it’s reportedly not going to work very well.

There are other ways to get wrinkles out of your clothes without ironing.

You can try hanging clothes in the bathroom while you shower to allow the steam to get to work.

Finally, you can also use your hair dryer as a makeshift steamer.
