Mom shares a photo of her daughter’s lunch box at school, but parents can’t figure out one detail
- A mother shared an innocent photo of her daughter’s lunchbox
- But many were fixated on a strange aspect of the food: the frozen peas
One mom proudly shared a photo of her kid’s well-rounded lunchbox — but several parents fixated on one particular item.
Suzanne, from the US, prepared a lunch for her daughter, consisting of a mini bagel, biscuits, sliced strawberries, a piece of chocolate – and a surprise vegetable.
The mother filled an entire portion of her daughter’s lunch box with frozen peas that had not yet been cooked or thawed.
A few other mothers were quick to point out how strange her child’s craving for peas was — since their own children refused to even touch the tiny green vegetable.
But Suzanne claimed that her daughter loved eating the peas only partially thawed.

“My daughter’s lunch for tomorrow!” wrote the mother in a popular Facebook group especially for school lunch boxes.
She explained that she bought the bagels fresh from the oven that morning.
Mini bagels just came out of the oven when I went to the store this morning – I couldn’t resist! Delicious on a sandwich or with cream cheese.’
But others were more focused on the frozen peas portion.
“Are those really frozen peas?” a mother asked.
Another wanted to know if the peas stayed frozen when her daughter ate them.
“My daughter says they’re half thawed [when she eats them], which she loves. We also put a cold pack with her lunch,’ Suzanne said.
Other mothers found it admirable that Suzanne’s daughter ate peas, and one of them even revealed a similar trait in her own children.
“That’s really cool,” one mom said. “My kids eat vegetables, but never peas!”
“My kids love peas, frozen or thawed! I buy the organic frozen peas at Aldi. Cheap and delicious,” added another.
