A frugal mom who “walked into the store manager while discounting” has shown her epic shopping and revealed that timing is everything when you want a deal.
The single-mom-of-four took in over $200 worth of meat for just $12.14, with most packs marked down to 50 cents.
She often “fills her freezer” with cheap meats and makes the most of her store’s “markdown” times.
“When I shop, I shop to feed my kids and protect my bank account,” she said.
Adding that on this occasion the manager seemed to care for her as he noticed her picking up every discounted item.
“I cried after arguing with my children’s father over child support over the phone in Coles, which he must have overheard. us if we want the trolley,’ she said.
Mom of four shows off her meat haul after saving over $190 on meat
Some people accused her of “taking too much” and added that other people are struggling too.
“I also find some good quick sales, but I like to leave some for others like me,” said one woman.
The mother quickly hit back.
“All I have is Bill, bills bills and my four babies. So putting things back when I buy it cheaper is not on my radar,” she said.
And the staff supported her.
“The amount of discounted stuff that ends up in the bins every night is insane. So it’s clear leaving for others doesn’t work,” one wrote.

It was 9 p.m., while she try to shop at ‘mark down time’ but admits that her happiness on this occasion was due to the friendliness of the manager.
Mark-down time varies by store, but according to other bargain hunters, it’s usually just before the store manager quits.
“Morning will have a little markdown, but nighttime is when it gets sold or thrown away, so I’ve found 5pm to close when they go pretty much “give me 20 cents so we don’t have to throw it away” ,’ a mama said,
“I used to always miss it, then I asked a cashier and she told me that the price reductions in my store are ready at 7:30 pm,” said another.
The mother filled her freezer with the meat, which would expire the following evening.
