The Memorial Day rally in Red River, the city’s 41st annual, turned violent on Saturday as shots rang out at the packed event.
The number of casualties is unknown at this time, but unofficial reports estimate up to 10 may be hospitalized and possibly one dead. At least 25 motorcycles followed the ambulances on their way to Holy Cross Medical Center
“Attention, there’s another firefight going on—a rolling firefight—between Banditos [Motorcycle Club] and someone else,” an officer reported around 6 p.m., according to Taos News.
“They’re shutting down Red River,” another officer advised through the police scanner, according to the local report.

The scene is still active, according to the New Mexico State Police. Officials have not released the cause of the shooting.
It was originally reported by the Albuquerque Journal that the shooting happened at the Motherlode Saloon in Red River, but the bar took to Facebook to deny it, confirming that the serious incident did not take place there.
More than 25,000 motorcyclists were expected in the city for the rally this weekend.
