Multiple injured after car plows into pedestrians in New York’s Herald Square

Several people were injured after a car crashed into pedestrians in New York’s Herald Square on Christmas Day.

NYPD told DailyMail.com that the vehicle struck several people at 6th and West 34th Street in mid-Manhattan just after 4 p.m.

It is unclear whether the crash was intentional or an accident and how many people were affected. Several people were taken to area hospitals in stable condition.

It is also unknown what type of vehicle was involved in the carnage and whether it crashed into pedestrians on a crosswalk or sidewalk.

The driver has not yet been identified and police have not yet made any arrests or charges.

Herald Square is home to Macy’s department store, which attracts tourists during the Christmas season, especially on December 25.

Police are on scene in the main shopping area in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. NYPD said the investigation is ongoing.
