Multimillionaire Shark Tank mogul Barbara Corcoran reveals question EVERY candidate should ask at the end of an interview if they want to ‘close the deal’
Barbara Corcoran is known for her tendency to take Shark Tank to heart, so it’s no surprise that she advises candidates to take a similar approach when applying for a job.
The 74-year-old mogul tended her garden in a TikTok video which she teased contained her “best interview tip.”
“Want to know the most important question to ask in a job interview?” Corcoran asked the camera as she wielded a garden hose, adding, “I bet you haven’t heard this one yet.”
Corcoran explained that “before you leave the room,” “you look at the person you’re interviewing and say to them, ‘Is there anything stopping you from hiring me?'”

‘It’s polite. You force them into the position of telling you what they might object to,” she explained.
“Maybe there was a miscommunication, they didn’t understand you. It gives you the last chance.’
She also added that it was a great way to “earn their respect” and assured fans it would “seal the deal.”
This is far from Corcoran’s first time giving her fans business advice.
In May, she told fans she doesn’t believe in saving money — even when faced with the threat of bankruptcy.
Corcoran, who sat down with CNBC Make It to discuss her success, explained, “I just don’t believe in saving money, I’ve never saved a penny in my entire life.”
“When I sold my company for $66 million, I immediately thought of what to spend it on.
The self-made millionaire said she spoke to her mother about being on the brink of bankruptcy for a fifth time during the 1990-1991 recession.

Corcoran revealed how she feared she would have to close the business after 12 years because she didn’t have the money to keep it afloat.
To which her mother replied, ‘Don’t worry about the money. What a waste of time.’
Corcoran concluded, “I think the carefree attitude of believing money makes money if you’re willing to share and spend it really works—or at least it certainly has worked for me.”
Living according to that philosophy seems to have paid off.

While she loves her space in NYC, she recently admitted that she loves her $1 million mobile home even more.

However, it hasn’t been all roses for the esteemed businesswoman.
She revealed that she had been hit by a phishing scam and lost over $400,000 on an episode of Red Table Talk.
“My accountant got an email from my secretary authorizing a $400,000 wire transfer,” Corcoran explains.
‘I invest in a lot of real estate, I renovate real estate, so it seemed like the most normal thing in the world. It was not out of the norm.
Corcoran said “the money went out” via “a wire transfer to Germany” before learning the deal wasn’t fair.

“It wasn’t until my accountant sent a confirmation to my real secretary and said, ‘Hey, we’re confirming this one last time,'” she said. ‘There, boom! I’ve been told I was hit by a crook.’
Other times, her outspoken nature has landed her in hot water.
In April, she was criticized by fans after claiming that she “loves firing people on Fridays.”
Speaking to British businessman Steve Bartlett on a The Diary of a CEO podcast, Corcoran said, “What I would like to do is call someone into my office on a Friday.
“I love firing people on Fridays. I would go by someone’s desk on a Wednesday and say, ‘Hey, do you have time, sometime on Friday?'” she said in the clip that resurfaced from December 2022.
“They should have heard the rumours. I couldn’t wait for them to come in and fire them!’
She also faced backlash after fans accused her of fat-shaming Whoopi Goldberg.

While discussing the first black female guest Shark, Emma Grede, of the denim brand Good American to take part in the show, the jeans came into question.
“Will they fit in this… COVID,” Whoopi gestured, alluding to her backside. “I thought I’d just ask.”
Corcoran shocked fans when she replied, “And when you’re done with those jeans and decide you don’t like them, give them to me.” I’m going to make two pairs!’
Corcoran became a public figure after landing a coveted role on the show Shark Tank.
However, she was almost not on the show. During an appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast, she revealed that just two weeks after she signed her contract, they told her she wouldn’t be on the show.
‘I was humiliated. I told all my friends, “I’m going to Hollywood,” Corcoran said.
“So I sat down and wrote them an email and said, ‘You made a mistake.'”
Corcoran said she kept the email short and demanded that the producers “invite both women to compete for the seat.”
As fans well know, she landed the gig and has been on the show for 14 seasons.
