Real estate magnate Barbara Corcoran has years of experience buying and selling real estate – and now the multimillionaire has revealed the biggest mistake she sees in people looking to buy a home.
The 74-year-old, who began her career by launching her own real estate agency in her early 20s and has since built an estimated $100 million net worth, used TikTok to share candid advice with potential homebuyers.
She began the 15-second video by asking a question: “Do you want to know what is the biggest mistake people make when buying a house?”
Barbara stood in her foyer as if about to leave the door, pausing for dramatic effect before revealing the mistake.

After sharing the advice, Barbara theatrically walked out her front door
“They’re not going back to look again!” she exclaimed.
“Then you discover the noisy neighbor, the barking dog, the party house across the street,” she continued.
“Go back and have a look,” she emphasized, before walking theatrically out the front door.
She repeated in the caption to those “on the market” as homebuyers, “Don’t forget this!”
Fans of the Shark Tank panelist flocked to the comments to praise her wisdom.
“You’re SOOOOO right,” one exclaimed.
