The first teaser for Mufasa: The Lion King was shared on Monday morning.
Beyoncé and Donald Glover return as Simba and Nala. And Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy provides their daughter’s voice.
Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins.
It is the photorealistic live-action animated prequel to the similarly shot 2019 remake of the original 1994 film The Lion King.
The release date is December 20, 2024.

The 42-year-old Cowboy Carter crooner reprises the role of Nala who also appeared in the 2019 film.
Her mini-me daughter Blue Ivy, 12, voices King Simba’s daughter.
King Simba is once again played by Glover.
Moonlight Oscar winner Barry Jenkins directs and the script is by Jeff Nathanson.
An official synopsis for the film reads: “Simba, who has become king of the Pride Lands, is determined to keep his cub following in his footprints as the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.”
Timon is once again played by Billy Eichner and Pumbaa is voiced by a returning Seth Rogen.
Also in the cast are Thandiwe Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Mads Mikkelsen and Tiffany Boone.

John Kani returns as the voice of Rafiki.
“This story begins far behind the mountains and the shadows, on the other side of the light,” the mandrill says in the clip.
Rafiki says of the cub: ‘Born without a drop of nobility in his blood – a lion who would change our lives forever.’
Mufasa will feature original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Mufasa: The Lion King will be in theaters on December 20.
