MSNBC star Rachel Maddow shares dystopian vision of how she fears election night could destroy American democracy

MSNBC host and left-wing star Rachel Maddow fears that Trump-affiliated election commissions could be used as dormant cells to overturn a Democratic election victory in November.

Maddow, an icon of American blue, has made increasingly outrageous statements during the 2024 election, including claims that a re-elected Trump would have put her in an internment camp.

In an opinion piece published by the New York Times On Monday, she wrote an article titled “What Concerns Me Most About Election Night.” The seasoned commentator said she believes the RNC has the right people in place to pull off an election heist this year.

Since Donald Trump and Ronna McDaniel, then chair of the Republican National Committee, called local officials in Michigan To encourage them not to certify the vote results, Republicans quietly recruited eager allies at county and state election boards in November 2020, Maddow writes.

The host specifically references the state of Georgia, where Trump was accused of election interference over his efforts to gain new votes.

In an op-ed published Monday by The New York Times titled “What Worries Me Most About Election Night,” the veteran commentator says she believes the RNC has mobilized the people to pull off an election heist this year.

Oral arguments in the Georgia case were expected to take place in October, but the case was likely delayed until after November, before the trial was again halted.

Maddow argues that new laws passed by the state election board give any county in Georgia the right to delay or outright refuse to certify results in order to conduct a “reasonable investigation.” What constitutes such an investigation, however, remains vague.

She then describes her nightmare scenario, in which the Democrats win Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan, while the Republicans take Arizona and Pennsylvania, and the entire election hinges on the outcome of Georgia.

Then, Maddow argues, the “reasonable investigation” into the results in the Peach State can begin.

“A clear-eyed look at how Republicans have managed the election since Trump tried to overturn the last election should prepare us: refusals to certify results should not necessarily be seen as a sign of real election problems; they are more likely part of a bad-faith strategy to disrupt the democratic process,” she argued.

She concluded by calling on voters to find out who works on their election boards and to put public pressure on them to certify the election results, but she left with a warning.

“No one should be surprised if certifications are denied or if they are abused to create chaos and unrest.”

Maddow, a well-known campaigner against Trump’s presidential campaign, said in August that she feared Trump would become “president for life,” in other words a dictator, if he won a second term in the White House.

The host specifically points to the state of Georgia, where Trump’s efforts to win new votes have led to accusations that he tried to influence the election.

Earlier this year, Maddow even said she fears Trump will put her in an internment camp if he is re-elected in this upcoming election. election season.

In an interview with CNN senior reporter Oliver Darcey published Monday in the Reliable Sources newsletter, Maddow was asked about her concerns that she could become a personal victim of the Trump administration if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

“Trump and his allies have talked openly about using the government as a weapon to retaliate against critics in the media and politics, with some of his extremist allies even talking about locking up their fellow Americans,” Darcy said. “You are one of his most visible critics on television. Are you concerned that you could be a target?”

Maddow responded: “I’m concerned about the country as a whole when we put someone in power who openly admits he wants to build camps to house millions of people and ‘wipe out’ what he calls in inhuman terms his ‘enemy within.'”

‘Again, history is helpful here. He’s not kidding when he says this, and we’ve seen what happens when people take power and push those kinds of agendas.

“I think there’s a little bit of a head-in-the-sand complacency that Trump only wants to go after individual people that he’s already identified. Do you really think he’s going to stop at well-known liberals?”

She too shock waves sent through the air The view in June with her criticism of the Supreme Court and a call for Chief Justice John Roberts to “save the justice system.”

Maddow was asked about the conduct of Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow said she fears Trump will put her in an internment camp if he is re-elected this upcoming election season.

“If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to deploy the U.S. military against civilians, do you think he will withdraw it on day two?” Maddow asked in response to Oliver Darcey’s question about how seriously Trump and his allies take retaliating against critics in the media and politics.

Thomas, who has been widely criticized for failing to disclose gifts from businessman Harlan Crow, finally admitted to accepting a number of costly gifts from the billionaire amid left-wing anger.

Alito angered Democrats after an upside-down American flag was raised over his home on January 6 following the Capitol riots, later claiming it was his wife’s decision.

Maddow called both of them “blatantly corrupt” and demanded that Roberts do something about it, which came as a surprise to co-host Sunny Hostin.

“The blatant corruption of some of these Supreme Court justices is John Roberts’ problem. He’s the Chief Justice, he needs to check it to save his court and the justice system,” she said.

Co-host Joy Behar said it was “doubtful” that Roberts would act.

She believed then that if there was corruption at the liberal MSNBC, something would be done about it.

Maddow asked, “I work at MSNBC. If there was a family member of mine who lobbied the White House chief of staff and said, ‘Overturn this election result,’ do you think they would let me cover that election result, let alone make a binding judicial ruling on that election result?”

The host was referring to Thomas’ wife Ginni, who texted White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows asking if he wanted to challenge the 2020 election results.

She also argued that the Supreme Court granted Trump effective immunity “because they’ve delayed things for so long that the things he did in 2020 won’t be tried until he potentially gets back in the White House.”
