MSNBC Morning Joe hosts are left stunned by Trump’s 2024 election victory and make shock concession

The somber hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe were stunned by Donald Trump’s political comeback, even admitting that it was clear he seems to know best what Americans really want.

Trump, 78, won a remarkable victory in the 2024 presidential election, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the key swing states by North CarolinaGeorgia and Pennsylvania.

The Associated Press called Wisconsin at 5:34 a.m. ET on Wednesday and the race just three minutes later.

MSNBC’s Morning Joe went on air at 6 a.m. ET and the hosts were astounded by the results.

“I think we have to recognize that Donald Trump knows our country better than we do. I think he discovered that anger – and, frankly, fear – was far more powerful than appealing to people’s better angels,” said Claire McCaskill.

“That anger and fear were going to work in this election. Whether you are afraid of immigrants or afraid of transgender people, he understands that. And I think we all thought everyone’s better angels would prevail. It turns out the better angels went on vacation as Donald Trump came down the escalator. And they haven’t returned.’

In the final weeks leading up to Election Day, most pollsters said the race was too close to call.

However, the results showed that the vice president not only lost to Donald Trump, but also performed poorly across the board compared to Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

“I have to say this is the biggest red wave I’ve seen since Ronald Reagan’s 49-state victory in 1984. It seems like it’s benefited all Republicans across the country,” said host Joe Scarborough.

“First of all, America is much more right-wing than it has ever been in our lifetimes. Even if we go back to the Reagan years. And Donald Trump won in dominant fashion.

“The scope and magnitude of this victory is enormous… This is a Democratic Party that was just wiped out this morning.”

Trump’s victory marked a remarkable return for a twice-impeached president, who left office in 2021 over claims he incited a riot at the U.S. Capitol and was convicted of multiple corporate fraud charges earlier this year.

Morning Joe’s newest addition Jonathan Lemire said: “[Trump] was deposed twice. He botched the handling of the pandemic. He faced four criminal charges. He inspired January 6. And he still won.’

The four-hour morning show has become a bastion of the Democratic establishment, with President Joe Biden routinely listening in as he does his morning exercises to watch his acolytes promote the party’s talking points.

Scarborough, host of the left-wing channel’s Morning Joe, has long criticized Donald Trump as a threat to democracy in a bitter personal feud dating back nearly a decade.

The resounding victory ends a tumultuous 2024 campaign — punctuated by Biden’s dramatic withdrawal from the race in July, as well as two shocking attempts on Trump’s life.

Harris did not concede on election night. Instead, former Rep. Cedric Richmond — her campaign co-chair — announced shortly after midnight that she had gone to bed and would not address supporters until “tomorrow.”
