MSNBC host Rachel Maddow shocks The View with wild Supreme Court claim after Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito sparked backlash

Liberal cable news host Rachel Maddow sent shockwaves through The View on Tuesday with her criticism of the Supreme Court and a call for Chief Justice John Roberts to “save the justice system.”

Maddow, a well-known advocate against Donald Trump and conservatives, joined the daily chatterfest and was asked about the behavior of Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

Thomas, who has come under criticism for failing to disclose gifts from businessman Harlan Crow, finally acknowledged some of the expensive gifts he accepted from the billionaire amid left-wing anger.

Alito angered Democrats after an upside-down American flag was flown at his home following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which he later claimed was his wife’s decision.

Maddow called out both for being “blatantly corrupt” and demanded Roberts do something about it, surprising co-host Sunny Hostin.

“The blatant corruption of some of these Supreme Court justices is John Roberts’ problem. He is the Chief Justice, he must provide oversight to save his court and the justice system,” she said.

Co-host Joy Behar said there was “doubt” that Roberts would perform.

She believed then that if corruption occurred at liberal MSNBC, it would be addressed.

Maddow asked, “I work at MSNBC. If a member of my family were to lobby the White House Chief of Staff and say, “overturn this election result,” do you think they would let me defeat that election result, let alone make a binding court ruling on that election result? ?’

The host was referring to Thomas’ wife, Ginni, who texted White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in an attempt to get him to question the results of the 2020 election.

She also argued that the Supreme Court granted Trump effective immunity “because they’ve been delaying the cases for so long that the things he did in 2020 won’t be tried before him until he potentially gets back into the White House.”

Maddow, the face of MSNBC for more than a decade, recently made headlines by suggesting that Trump will place her in an internment camp if he is re-elected.

In an interview with CNN media reporter Oliver Darcey published in Monday’s Reliable Sources newsletter, Maddow was asked about her concerns about personal victimization from the Trump administration if he wants to emerge victorious in the 2024 presidential election.

“Trump and his allies are openly talking about arming the government to retaliate against critics in the media and politics, with some of his extremist allies even talking about jailing their fellow Americans,” Darcy said. “You’re one of his most notable critics on television. Are you concerned that you might be a target?’

Maddow responded: “I worry for the entire country if we put in power someone who openly admits his intention to build camps to detain millions of people, and what he has in inhuman terms called his ‘enemy’ described, to ‘exterminate’. from the inside.’

“Again, history is helpful here. He’s not kidding when he says things like this, and we’ve seen what happens when people take power and push such an agenda.”

“I think there’s a bit of head-in-the-sand complacency that Trump only wants to go after individual people that he’s already chosen. Do you really think he plans to stop at well-known liberals?

“It also seems pretty clear that some people in politics think they are on the safe side – that they can even benefit – if they side with Trump. Ask Mike Pence how that will ultimately work out.

“If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to use the U.S. military against civilians, do you think he will then revoke that order on day two?

She continued, “What convinces you anyway that these huge camps he’s planning are just for migrants? So yes, I worry about myself, but only as much as I worry about all of us.”

Maddow, a well-known advocate against Trump’s presidential campaign, said in August that she fears Trump would become “president for life,” or a dictator, if he secures a second term in the White House.

She has railed against Trump since he was first elected in 2016, with her stunned reaction to his victory over Hillary Clinton being one of the defining media moments of that election.
