MSNBC has sparked outrage after accusing Nikki Haley of “using her brown skin to launder white supremacy” in the early days of her presidential campaign.
Host Mehdi Hasan led a heated interview about the Republican hopeful, where his guests took aim at Haley for her repeated claim that America is “not a racist country.”
“I look at Haley and I feel sad,” Wajahat Ali, a Daily Beast contributor, said during the outlandish exchange.
“He uses his brown skin as a weapon against the poor blacks and the poor brown blacks.”

Daily Beast contributor Wajahat Ali has come under fire for his comments on the show.
Haley was the first Indian American member of a presidential cabinet, serving in the Trump administration as US Ambassador to the UN for nearly two years. Haley became the first major Republican to challenge Donald Trump for the GOP presidency earlier this month.
But her candidacy has sparked a wave of controversial comments from liberal pundits, with Ali calling her an “alpha Karen with brown skin.”
The commenter was apparently referring to Haley’s age, and “Karen” was a popular online slur for middle-aged women.
Ali added that “Nikki Haley, on the other hand, is the Dinesh D’Souza of Candace Owens,” apparently bundling her political stances with American Indian filmmaker D’Souza and conservative talk show host Owens.
“For white supremacists and racists, she is the perfect candidate from Manchuria.”
Haley has used the early days of her candidacy to point to her upbringing as an American Indian in South Carolina, but Ali claimed her description is being used simply to score political points.
He said: ‘Instead of being pulled off our boot straps and pulling others (by their) boots (straps), we are taught to take your boot and put it around the necks of poor Browns, immigrants, refugees and black people.
‘Nikki, they will never love you. Not worth it.

Despite Haley becoming the first Indian American member of a presidential candidate when she served as ambassador to the UN under Donald Trump, Ali said he was far from “applauding” her for her achievements.
“I’m just disgusted by people like Nikki Haley who knows better, whose parents were the beneficiaries of the Immigration Nationality Act of 1965,” which Ali argued was passed nearly 60 years ago “thanks to the original BLM protesters.”
He also added that Haley is a “shape-shifting amoeba to whatever is convenient.”
Ali’s comments sparked a wave of criticism after they circulated online, with one person responding that his stance was “disgusting.”
‘What an ugly, hateful liberal idiot,’ said another.
A third said: ‘Wajahat Ali gets my vote for ‘Disgusting Person of the Day’. Why did MSNBC allow him airtime?
“His comments were racist and vile.”
The commenter’s suggestion was also criticized after it was deemed hypocritical by some, with one viewer saying, “Imagine the outrage if the same had been said of Kamala.”
Despite the wave of controversy that followed his comments, Ali doubled down, taking to Twitter to praise himself for upsetting “all the right people.”
“Apparently calling out racism is more offensive than, you know, actual racism and its toxic consequences,” he added.
The pundit’s attack on her age by calling her ‘Karen’ reflects a recent scandal surrounding CNN’s Don Lemon, who was forced to apologize after he said the 51-year-old was ‘past her prime’ as a woman.
Haley’s recent candidacy has led several liberal pundits to criticize her, with The View presenter Whoopi Goldberg also coming under fire after she claimed the Republican had lost her “sanity”.
Whoopi Goldberg has also come under fire after she went on a furious rant following Nikki Haley’s presidential announcement.
Nikki Haley was quick to respond to Goldberg on Twitter after his rant
“So Nikki, you know, since you’ve been asleep this whole time and just woke up, you’re realizing that there are things in our country that aren’t perfect,” Goldberg said.
Goldberg took particular offense at Haley’s reluctance to admit that America “isn’t perfect” in her campaign, along with her repeated suggestion that America “isn’t a racist country.”
“For us to pretend that (the United States is perfect), that nothing happened, is ridiculous,” he said.
You, more than anyone, should know better. You used to have some sanity and you knew right from wrong and then you lost your mind and went in a new direction.
Goldberg’s co-host, Joy Behar, then doubled down on the tirade, hitting out at “right-wing politicians” who have “gone mentally insane.”
After the tirade, Haley was quick to respond, sparking a wave of criticism over The View hosts’ attack on her candidacy.
“Here we go again, Whoopi,” the Republican contender said on Twitter.
‘The idea of me running for president makes liberals’ heads explode. I wonder why?’
