Mrs Hinch sobs on social media as she asks her followers for advice on how to deal with grief after her father’s death
Mrs Hinch wept in her social media stories on Friday, asking her fans for support as she battled the grief following the loss of her father.
Cleaning influencer Sophie Hinchcliffe stopped posting online after her father Alan passed away in April.
It wasn’t until last month that she returned to her platform to talk to her 4.8 million followers about her grief.
She said, “When you’ve experienced something like that, it’s a bit like an out-of-body experience.
“The world looks different, feels different, smells different, just everything is different,” she said in her stories in August.

Sophie, 34, announced her father’s passing on Instagram in May, writing that he “passed away suddenly but so peacefully in his sleep.
‘My life, our whole world, has been turned upside down. A deep unimaginable pain that I cannot put into words.’
Sophie is still struggling with her grief, telling her fans: ‘I thought I was doing okay yesterday, or sort of managing.
‘And then last night I had a dream… I don’t understand how we can have this sadness. It’s something that’s always with us, but when you try to do better, it brings you back down to earth.’
“I really want to do better, but I can’t. I don’t know if anyone has any advice on how to start over every few days, it seems.”
Mrs Hinch is best known for her cleaning tips and organisation tricks, but through Alan she discovered her passion for DIY.
As a child, she watched the New Yankees Workshop with her father and together they dreamed of having such a workshop themselves.
When the family moved in 2021, Sophie surprised him with a place of his own and tools for after his retirement, something he had wanted “since he was a little boy.”
Alan described the workshop as ‘the most emotional part of the house’ and created his own workshop bench and stool. Together they pinned a whiteboard to the workstation to write down their upcoming projects.
Sophie ordered all of her father’s favorite tools for the workshop and shared her enthusiasm for upcycling as much as possible with her father.
She wrote: ‘I can’t wait until we can upcycle and make things together here. Dad has worked so hard his whole life to provide for us and I felt like I could finally give something back to him.’
When the star first introduced her followers to her father’s workshop in 2022, she shared a snap of the front door and wrote: ‘So proud of my dad. The start of many projects together in grandpa’s workshop!’
The influencer got a tattoo in her late father’s handwriting in August in memory of him.
She shared a number of photos, including one of her two boys and one of her new tattoo on her forearm.
She wrote in the caption: ‘Explaining to your children that their loved one is never coming back is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life.
“Life has definitely changed forever, but as parents we are finding that fight to get up, walk, talk and just try to laugh through the rollercoaster of grief. If you are going through this too, I am sending you all my love.”
Mrs Hinch got a tattoo of her late father’s handwriting to commemorate him.
