Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Brendan O’Carroll has revealed why he would never dress up as his famous character once the cameras stop rolling.
The actor, 67, who returns next week for the first time since 2013 with a much-anticipated fourth series, said he hasn’t missed out on transforming into Mrs Brown.
Brendan insisted he has never appeared as Ms. Brown on any chat show or interview because he thinks she “wouldn’t have anything to say.”
He also revealed that he can’t stand the taste of lipstick and doesn’t understand how women can wear tights, but that he has “massive admiration” for it.

And the thing is, I can’t stand the taste of lipstick. I hate it, it tastes like soap. If you watch the show, you’ll see that I never lick my lips, ever. So as soon as the show is over, everything goes right off and I put her back in her box.’
“Mrs. Brown never leaves the theater. I’ve never done a talk show like Mrs. Brown, or an interview like her. She has nothing to say. What would you ask her? How is the family? I have no idea to take her out on the street. Everyone will recognize her, Jesus, I’d be battered. It’s hard enough being Brendan O’Carroll. If I hadn’t played Jonathan Ross, no one would know me. And I have no problem with that.’
The hit sitcom has been a regular fixture of Christmas TV schedules for over a decade, but the upcoming episodes will mark the first new series since 2013.
And now the return date for the series has been revealed, with Mrs Brown’s Boys returning to the screens next month.
The BBC has confirmed that the series will return for a further four episodes on Friday 8 September at 9.30pm.
The episodes of the popular show are broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Earlier this year, show creator Brendan — who also leads the cast as matriarch Agnes Brown — admitted that the show has been “thwarted twice” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as it was originally slated to hit screens in 2021. to appear.
Speaking of the new series, the 67-year-old comics character said, “This miniseries was actually scheduled for 2021.
“After being thwarted twice, first by Covid-19 and then by a post-Covid shortage of studios, it is fantastic to finally have the opportunity to make this happen.
“Put on your seatbelts and hold on to your hats!”
The BBC bosses are happy the show is back, with Josh Cole, head of comedy at BBC Studios, and Steven Canny, executive producer, saying: ‘There’s no one like Mrs Brown.
