MrBeast comes out fighting for YouTube sidekick Chris Tyson after critics said he ‘abandoned’ son

MrBeast’s side-kick Chris Tyson was accused of abandoning his 2-year-old son after he started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and has since hit back at critics.

Tyson, 26, who says he uses all pronouns, revealed in early April that he had started his ‘life-saving’ HRT treatment two months ago.

He has since faced anti-trans comments and critics even questioned his parenting abilities, but his friend MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has publicly defended him.

After Youtuber SunnyV2 made a video titled “Why Chris Will Soon Be a Nightmare For MrBeast,” Donaldson posted on Twitter: “Yeah. this is getting absurd. Chris is not my “nightmare” he is my f****** friend and everything is fine.

“All this transphobia is starting to annoy me.”

The backlash began after Tyson changed his Twitter profile picture from one of him and his two-year-old son, Tucker, to a sketch of himself with long hair.

A Twitter user named Cody commented on the photo change saying, “Chris had a perfectly healthy nuclear family that has been proven to give children the best outcomes in life, many studies back this up.

“But Chris chose, key word is chosen, to sacrifice that to fulfill his selfish fetish fantasy of being a woman.”

With his accusations, the man posted pictures of Tyson and his family, wife Katie Tyson and their son Tucker.

The man added: “Chris really loves his son, I have no doubt about it. But his selfishness and deviant behavior had the highest priority. He even shares pictures of his son in girly heels.

‘But this isn’t care, is it? He even pushes his selfish fetish onto his own son.”

He continued to say that all the Youtuber’s money would neither buy him happiness nor his “son understand why he lost his father and got a second mother.”

He also demanded that the Youtuber “accept” himself and “take his family back” after claiming that Tyson would “never be a woman.”

Tyson defended the image change and the criticism of being a father while living as a non-conforming person.

He reasoned, “I just don’t want more pictures of Tucker than I have to,” adding last week, “I don’t let people talk about how I ‘abandoned my kid.’ He is the only priority in my life.

I have his love and support and that’s all I need. I’m doing this for him. If that confuses you, educate yourself. That makes you angry. To leave. Simple.’

Despite facing a lot of criticism since revealing his HRT treatment, Tyson said he was ‘really so happy’ that his announcement helped people educate themselves about HRT and ‘how it can and has helped so many people’.

The star, who has appeared in numerous videos alongside YouTube’s biggest star MrBeast, tweeted on April 6, “Informed consent HST saved my life and the lives of many others. The hurdles gender nonconforming people have to overcome to get life-saving gender-affirming health care in a first-world country are wild to me.

“Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies.”

Tyson, who revealed he has struggled with gender dysphoria for years, said he decided to start HRT two months ago and that aging his son helped guide his decision to begin treatment.

MrBeast, who has 144 million subscribers on YouTube, previously showed his support for his co-star by answering “Gotchu” with several heart emojis on one of Tyson’s tweets.

People assigned male at birth are typically prescribed estrogen because it blocks testosterone and allows people to better adjust to their gender identity.

Tyson has a two-year-old son named Tucker with Katie Tyson, whom he married in June 2018.

It is not clear what their relationship status is after the YouTuber announced his HRT treatment. Rumors circulated on social media that they have broken up, but neither of them has commented on that.

Tyson, who came out as bisexual in November 2020, credited Tucker with helping him through his treatment. The YouTuber tweeted, “If it wasn’t for this little nugget I never would have gotten this far.

“He taught me so much about myself in such a short time. I can’t wait to learn through life together.”

The number of people who are transgender and undergo surgery and hormone therapies to transition has increased dramatically in recent years – especially in the US.

Tyson revealed he underwent HRT after a Twitter user shared side-by-side photos of him before and after therapy, asking “bro what happened.”

“HRT, and it’s only been two months,” Tyson wrote in response, adding that he had been learning about gender dysmorphia for 21 years after discovering his sister’s dresses in her closet.
