Mov’in Bed open air cinema: Why 150 cosy queen beds are about to appear on the new Barangaroo ‘beach’ in Sydney

A new outdoor cinema is coming to Australia this summer – and the beautiful beach location is sure to tempt many Sydneysiders.

Pop-up cinema Mov’in Bed is moving to Sydney’s Barangaroo Harbor Park, temporarily transforming the area into an urban beach.

The location is open from January 13 to April 14, with performances every Wednesday to Sunday.

Film buffs can enjoy an evening of delicious dinner, popcorn and drinks in front of a 15-metre screen – the largest in Australia.

Sydneysiders can opt for a general admission ticket ($18) and bring a beach towel to sit on, or choose to upgrade their experience to a bed for two ($89) or three people ($119).

Many will be happy to discover that the setup will include noise-canceling headphones for those concerned about loud guests or ocean breezes.

The cinema will include breaks in longer films to ensure guests have plenty of time to freshen up between the action.

The Mov’in Bed cinema will also host several Australian film premieres and themed fancy dress nights this summer.
