Chaos at Movie World as guests get TRUCK on a ride after the park was forced to close a number of rides

  • The attraction malfunctioned and stopped in the middle of its tracks.
  • It comes after the attractions closed Wednesday for maintenance.

Multiple people have been stuck on a Movie World Ride just hours after the theme park was forced to close a number of rides due to a “glitch.”

Passengers aboard the West Falls attraction were trapped in carriages Thursday afternoon after it stopped in the middle of its tracks.

It comes after the Gold Coast amusement park was forced to close its Green Latern and Doomsday ride on Wednesday morning so engineers could carry out maintenance.

“The safety of our guests is our top priority and we have a dedicated engineering team conducting strict and thorough inspections on all attractions prior to opening each day,” a Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson said.

Riders on the West Falls ride were trapped in their carriages Thursday after the ride malfunctioned.

“During engineering inspections at Movie World (Wednesday) morning, our team identified a flaw with the Green Lantern and Doomsday rides that required further discussion with the international ride manufacturers.”

The problems led to the two affected attractions being closed on Wednesday, although they were expected to reopen later in the week.

The theme park also noted that there were minor delays with the opening of the Superman Escape and Scooby-Doo roller coasters on Wednesday.

More to come.
