Move over Travis Kelce! Fans hail new ‘best tight end in the NFL’ after sensational performance
Travis Kelce was dethroned as the best tight end in the NFL in the eyes of many football fans on Sunday – by Tucker Kraft of the Green Bay Packers.
Kraft was fantastic as the Packers defeated the LA Rams 24-19. He had four receptions for 88 yards and scored two touchdowns as his team moved to 2-2 on the season.
Despite being 6 feet tall and weighing 259 pounds, Kraft hit a top speed of 19.70 mph when he ran 66 yards for one of his touchdowns.
It inevitably led to comparisons to none other than Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, with some fans saying Kraft has proven he is better than the three-time Super Bowl winner.
“Tucker Kraft > Travis Kelce,” one fan wrote on X. “Not even a debate,”

Another said: ‘Tucker Kraft is the new Travis Kelce.’
Other fans were quick to call Kraft the best in the league due to his position, with one saying, “Tucker Kraft is the best TE in football. Don’t @ me.’
Another fan said, “I’m not saying Tucker Kraft is the best TE in the NFL. Oh wait, actually that’s exactly what I mean.’
While Kraft, 23, enjoys a growing reputation, Kelce heads into Monday night’s Chiefs game against the New Orleans Saints looking to continue his tentative resurgence in form.
After struggling through the first three Chiefs games, Kelce recorded seven catches for 89 yards as his team won 17-10. Despite Kelce not yet finding fifth gear, the Chiefs are up 4-0 heading into Monday’s game.
Kelce, who turned 35 on Saturday, refuted claims earlier this week that the Chargers show had him back to his best.
He told his older brother Jason on their New Heights podcast, “Everything outside the building is just noise… (but) big game? When is 89 yards a big play? It was a solid game, a big game is like me scoring a touchdown or something.
“I was responsible for this game, I didn’t have a single drop, which happened in Atlanta, which made me feel like I had a bad game.
“I still didn’t have an excellent game, there’s a lot that goes into having a great game, but I did have seven catches, that is, a lot of times you get the rock and I went north with it, so that’s what it is.
“I helped my team find a way to win, and that’s all that will ever matter.”
