As of Friday afternoon, all three were in critical condition, a hospital spokesperson confirmed.
Western Australia Police Assistant Commissioner Tony Longhorn said young people, lighters and fire never got along well.
“This is an example of (a) tragic outcome and hopefully the three kids will be okay,” he said on Friday.
The fourth boy, also aged 13, was taken to Geraldton Hospital for what police described as moderate burns and has since been released.
The fire brigade had the fire under control around 4.30 p.m. on Thursday and was extinguished around 6 p.m.
