A sobbing mother of two has relived the horrific moment when she found her husband brutally murdered in his living room with fatal head injuries.
A murder investigation is underway after Matthew Berry, 37, was found at his home in Mount Tamborine, west of the Gold Coast, just after midday on Thursday.
Wife Edwina Berry called triple-zero after finding him in the living room of the home with fatal head and upper body injuries.
“Matty was a loving father, son, brother and friend, he was also an incredible partner,” Ms Berry told a news conference on Sunday.
“His heart was big and he was always willing and able to put others before himself.

“My husband didn’t deserve any of this and I’m asking anyone with information to come forward and help the police with their investigation.”
Mrs. Berry was overcome with her grief as she spoke of the two little girls she shared with Mr. Berry during the emotional call for information.
“I just want justice for all our family and friends and especially our two little girls,” she said before walking away from the cameras.
She heard sobbing in the background in the momentary silence before Queensland Police Detective Inspector Chris Knight took over the conference.
He had previously told the media about the gruesome scene encountered by aid workers arriving at the house.
“When the first responders arrived, it was very clear that violence had been committed against the gentleman,” he said.

Specialist scientific and forensic officers were on site for nearly 24 hours at the time of the media conference, with Mr Knight saying they are likely to be there for several days.
Detective Knight said Mrs. Berry went to the address after not hearing from Mr. Berry for several days.
His ex-partner went to the address, and sadly confronted that scene, she contacted triple-zero.
“She was there to check on his well-being. She hadn’t heard from him in a few days, but she’s a grieving woman.”
