Mount Druitt fight: Two men attacked and handgun replicas seized after brawl at Westfield shopping center in western Sydney

Two men have been arrested and handgun replicas seized after a brawl between two women in a shopping mall.

Police were called to the Westfield shopping center on Carlisle Avenue in Mount Druitt, western Sydney, just after 4pm Monday after reports of a brawl.

A man then intervened by allegedly hitting one of the women on the head with what appeared to be a firearm, before aiming it at her head.

Bystanders were then seen quickly fleeing the area after noticing what appeared to be a weapon.

The 20-year-old man fled, but was tracked down by police a short time later, allegedly with a replica handgun in his possession.

He was charged with seven counts of misdemeanor, including carrying a firearm in a manner that could result in injury and possession of illegal drugs.

A second man, also 20 years old, from Ropes Crossing was arrested. Another replica gun was found in a bedroom of a suburban home.

He was charged with four offenses with both men refusing bail on Tuesday to appear in Mount Druitt local court.
