Motsi Mabuse’s ex-husband Timo Kulczak has revealed he is taking legal action against her after she wrote in her autobiography that he was “in control” during their marriage.

Strictly Come Dancing, 41, claimed he prevented her from getting pregnant, restricted her access to money and dictated what she ate in her memoir, Finding My Own Rhythm, which was released in September 2022.

But now the German dancer, 45, has hit back, accusing her of making up the story to “stimulate book sales,” while claiming they’ve even been on friendly terms since their divorce in 2014.

“It’s just not true!” Motsi Mabuse’s ex-husband Timo Kulczak has claimed he is taking legal action against the strict judge after she accused him of being “controlling” in her autobiography (pictured in 2011)

He told The sun: ‘She did something bad to me and my family and I can’t accept that. Now I’ve reached a point where I can’t just leave things the way they are when something is brought out in public and it’s just not true.

“I am deeply disappointed and hurt. Looking back, I remember a very good and positive and happy time that just cannot compare to some of the claims about me that have now come to light.

“I was a loving and caring husband who was always by her side when she needed help. I don’t feel like I was in charge, I see everything I did as organizing and being helpful to her.’

Timo’s lawyer claimed they can handle it legal action in both Germany and England, but strive for a ‘amicable settlement’.

MailOnline has reached out to Motsi’s representative for comment.

In her book, Motsi claimed that her difficult relationship with Timo held her back professionally because he refused to let her open a dance school.

The former Ballroom and Latin dancer married her first love when she was only 22 years old and she broke off their 11-year marriage in 2014.

The TV personality said Timo took charge of her finances and paid her a fee from what she earned from her TV appearances and dance lessons.

Furious: But now the German dancer, 45, has hit back, accusing her of making up the story to “stimulate book sales,” while claiming they’ve even been on friendly terms since their divorce in 2014 (pictured in 2013)

She claimed that Timo chose what they ate and refused to divorce her when she spoke to him about it.

Motsi wrote in her book: ‘Timo and I went to Thailand and I told him once and for all that I was leaving. We fought every day, but this time I refused to back down.’

Their relationship broke down when they stopped dancing together, despite the couple having previously won two German championships together.

Timo also turned down her requests to have a baby and open a dance school together, Motsi said.

Motsi moved to Germany at the age of 18 to be with Timo, but realized she wasn’t in love with him at the time: “I wasn’t in love with Timo anymore – and I wasn’t in a while.”

The couple eventually divorced in 2014 and Motsi married her Ukrainian husband Evgenij Voznyuk in 2017.

While she insists that she and Evgenij never had anything to do with Timo, she admits that the couple did talk about their feelings for each other, which hastened her divorce from Timo.

They now live together in Germany, where they run a four-year-old daughter and a dance school. She is still friends with Timo.
