A motorcyclist has suffered multiple fractures and will require surgery after a horrific collision with a car sent him flying across a road.

The rider’s dashcam captured the shocking moment on camera while driving down a road near Mount Waverley in Melbourne’s south-east last Monday.

The vision of the incident was uploaded to social media on Thursday, with the motorcyclist calling on other motorcyclists to be safe on the road.

“I survived the crash. I had a lot of fractures and had to have surgery,” he said.

“Good riding gear saved my life… always ride in good riding gear.”

Social media commentators were shocked by the driver of the car (pictured right), but some called out the motorcyclist for the collision

Social media commentators were shocked by the driver of the car, but some called out the motorcyclist for the collision.

“It sounds like the bike was going faster, as most do on an empty street, not saying it’s the bike’s fault,” one commenter said.

“Unfortunately, other road users don’t always see bikes and it’s the riders who get the best out of it,” wrote another.

“This is the third cycling accident in the Mount Waverley area in two weeks,” said a third.

“That’s what all singlets, shorts and jet helmet riders should watch out for,” wrote another.

“I hope you heal soon and get back on two wheels,” said another, while another added that it’s asomething a panadol can’t solve’.
