Tregony, Queensland: Rider dies after being thrown from his bike at speed on private motocross track
An investigation is underway into the death of a motocross rider who fell from his motorcycle in a terrible accident and suffered serious injuries.
The rider fell from his motorcycle at high speed at 11.45am on Saturday at the Gap Creek Motocross circuit on the Cunningham Highway in Tregony, south-east Queensland.
Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the man using CPR, but he suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and could not be saved.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the sudden death of a man in a single-vehicle crash near Tregony at 11.45am,” the spokesman said.
‘Forensic crash units are investigating the incident.
“There is no further information at this time.”
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that emergency services were at the scene of the single-vehicle crash.
The man died after flying from his dirt bike at the Gap Creek Moto dirt bike circuit (pictured) on the Cunningham Highway in Tregony, south-east Queensland, on Saturday morning.
Daily Mail Australia has learned that Worksafe officials are also investigating.
Gap Creek Moto is a private dirt bike and camping area located approximately 10 km west of scenic Cunningham’s Gap.
The track, which is located on a vast 650-acre tract of land, offers a “unique riding experience for individuals and families,” according to their website.
The course is suitable for seniors and juniors and consists of approximately 20 km of trails and enduro loops. There are also camping facilities nearby.
Riders must wear their safety equipment, including a helmet, goggles, gloves, motocross boots, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, before using the course.
Quads are not allowed on the circuit.
Gap Creek Moto declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.
