Mother’s Day brawl breaks out at Liverpool restaurant as diners throw punches in front of shocked onlookers

This is the moment a violent brawl broke out in a busy restaurant on Mother’s Day, with women throwing punches and one person being knocked into a mirror.

Shocking footage of the fight showed a group of women fighting at The Restaurant Bar and Grill in Liverpool on Sunday.

Bystanders laughed as one woman grabbed the other by the hair and rained punches on her head.

The woman who was hit then turned around and pushed her attacker into a mirror, causing a loud bang as her skull hit the glass.

A shocked restaurant patron shouted, “This is our Mother’s Day.”

Another onlooker added: ‘She’s bashing her head in.’

A terrified mother could be seen shielding her daughter’s head as the fight broke out at the posh restaurant.

A man also grabbed a bottle on his table to protect it as the brawl got out of hand.

It’s unclear what sparked the gruesome battle over what should have been a day to celebrate mothers.

The restaurant ran a promotion where mothers received a £20 gift voucher.

The Restaurant Bar and Grill, which serves £55 steaks and a wide range of wines and cocktails, declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

Merseyside Police also declined to comment.

Individual Restaurants, owner of Liverpool’s Restaurant Bar and Grill, said: ‘We are aware of an incident that occurred yesterday.

“The safety and experience of our guests is of the utmost importance to us and violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our restaurants.

‘The guests involved have been removed from the building and banned from the restaurant.

“No staff or guests were injured during the incident.”
