A mum who ordered a Minion birthday cake for her son was left stunned by the ‘ugly’ results – as she sent the internet into a fit of hysteria by comparing the finished product to the design she originally requested.
The mother, who has the username @BbbyGirl1s0s0 on TikTok and based in the US, threw a party for her son’s second birthday last week themed around the beloved yellow creatures from the Despicable Me films.
She asked the baker at her local HEB supermarket to make a cake that looked like a Minion, and even provided a photo for inspiration, but the results were very different from what she asked for.
She took to the video streaming platform to share some footage of the disaster – and it amused many people on the internet.

The woman then showed an image of a cake she found on Google and showed it to the baker.
The bottom half was blue, while the top half was yellow, and featured a face with fake glasses made of icing.
“(The baker) asked me if I wanted it to have an ombre-like effect, and (gradually) go from blue to yellow, and I said, ‘No. Straight blue to straight yellow,'” she continued, adding that she also emphasized the importance of glasses.
The TikTok then cut a piece of the cake she received – which looked nothing like a minion.
Not only were there no glasses or mouth, the yellow and blue portions overlapped, leaving a bizarre green portion in the middle.
‘This is what I got. What the hell is this? Why is it ombre? Why is it green? What happened to the glasses circles?’ she continued. “Oh my fucking God. What is that anyway?’

Luckily, the mom was able to save the cake to make it look more like one of the Despicable Me characters by using a ribbon that came with it to cover the green part
In a follow-up video, the woman explained that she didn’t say anything to the baker when she picked it up because she was in a hurry and felt like it was “fixable.”
“Normally I would have said something, but I was picking this up ten minutes before I finished lunch,” she said.
‘I also knew it could be fixed. So let me show you what I did, it was actually very easy.”
Luckily, the mom was able to save the cake so it looked more like one of the Despicable Me characters.
She used the included ribbon to cover the green part and got a minion cake topper for the eyes.
“If I felt like I couldn’t solve it, I would have said something. But look how cute it turned out,” she concluded. ‘Lesson learned, I won’t go to HEB anymore.’

“Where’s the minion?” joked another. A third said: ‘It looks like a beach themed burger.’
Someone else commented: ‘At first I thought, “She’s probably just exaggerating.” No girl, they did you dirty.”
“Please tell me you didn’t pay for that,” read a fourth response.
Her videos caught the attention of HEB, who left a comment saying: “You immediately saved the day.
“Party planning is so stressful and we know it was the last thing you wanted to do. Would you like to send us a DM?’
The mother responded saying she had messaged them, but she did not share any details about what was said.
In a third video, the TikTok user showed a glimpse of how the party went. She showed off a room decorated with Minion decorations and Minion-themed treats like cupcakes, cookies, and of course, the cake.
Ultimately, she said her son had a “great” time and that she was a “happy mom.”
