Mother and two children are identified after trio drowned on the Georges River at Lansvale

A mother and two children who died after drowning in a river have been identified.

Emergency services rushed to the boat ramp at Shearer Park off Hollywood Drive, Lansvale, in Sydney’s south-west, on the Georges River, at 10.15am on Saturday after reports that a woman and two children were in the water ‘in distress’.

Haoi, 32, was pulled from the water but could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

After a massive water search, the bodies of her two children Mitchell and Hazel Nguyen, aged seven and five, were recovered from the water several hours later.
