Mother makes shock discovery in daughter’s car after she was stabbed to death by her violent husband during Bible study
A Minnesota woman who was stabbed to death by her husband during a Bible study had divorce papers in her car, her mother revealed.
Robert Castillo, 41, was sentenced to 33 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder earlier this year.
On March 21, 2023, Castillo stabbed his 41-year-old wife Corrina Woodhull more than 20 times while the two were attending a Bible study with a relative.
During her victim impact statement, Woodhull’s mother, Linda Castle, said that when she went to get her belongings out of her car, they found divorce papers in them, according to KSTP.
“She knew it was time to leave, and that’s why she’s dead,” Castle said.

The couple attended a weekly Bible study at Castillo’s sister’s home at 1000 Maryland Avenue East in St. Paul.
Castillo stabbed Woodhull about 20 times with a six-inch knife after whispering something in her ear, to which she shook her head.
Witnesses said the mother of five begged them not to let her die after stabbing her.
According to Castillo’s sister, who died before the stabbing, the couple had been “acting normally” and he held her hand and kissed her. Pioneer Press.
His sister and brother saw Castillo stab Woodhull with a hunting knife. Woodhull tried to grab Castillo’s hair to pull him off her, but family members had to intervene and pull him away, his sister said.
Castillo’s attorney, Mark Austin, said the man got high with a friend “and unfortunately took so much that he can’t remember what happened next.”
Woodhull was found on the ground with serious injuries to her torso, chest and arms and was rushed to Regions Hospital. The mother of five was pronounced dead on arrival.
During the interview with investigators, he asked if Woodhull was “going to be OK” and shook his head in disbelief when told she had died.

Before his sentence was handed down, Castillo apologized in court and said he took “full responsibility.”
“I am truly sorry and I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me one day,” Castillo said.

At the time of the stabbing, Castillo had an outstanding warrant for his arrest after he failed to appear at a preliminary hearing on charges of assault on an officer while in the Washington County Jail.
Castillo has a significant criminal record, with eight felonies, including assault, burglary and weapons possession.
He was also convicted of beating another woman with a hammer at his sister’s house and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
