‘Monster-in-law’ ruins son’s gender reveal party

An over-excited mother-in-law ruined her son’s gender reveal, leaving an expectant mother in shock.

David Wilson and his wife Shannon held a gender reveal party this summer to celebrate the upcoming birth of their second child.

The two decided to announce the baby’s gender by using confetti poppers and gave one to everyone in attendance at the party, including David’s excited mother.

Unfortunately, the grandmother couldn’t wait to find out the gender and used her confetti popper before the couple had a chance to do it themselves, as seen in a TikTok post. video Shannon posted.

The Wilsons had been looking forward to the party ever since they became pregnant.

“The first gender reveal was just my husband and I,” Shannon said. Newsweek.

“This time I wanted the people we love to join in. And it would have been really great for photos too.”

They were optimistic that the gender reveal would go smoothly before Daniel’s mother used her confetti popper too early.

“We gave instructions and I specifically told them we were all going to do it together,” Shannon said.

“I even told them that if anyone did it too early, I would kill them. So the fact that it actually happened was more shock and disappointment than anger.”

David’s mother didn’t explain why she dropped him too early, but Shannon believed it was because her monster-in-law “wasn’t listening.”

Although Shannon was disappointed with the June 30 video, she and David stuck to the original reveal plan during a July 1 TikTok.

“We let them go anyway. No swearing, no one was mad… I was okay guys,” Shannon wrote.

Daniel also forgave his mother for the mistake and immediately started laughing and dancing after using his confetti popper.

The two are now waiting for the arrival of their second child, a boy.

More than 3,300 TikTok users commented on the video, with several people blaming Daniel’s mother-in-law for the gender reveal’s failure.

“It’s just that it’s not easy to pop so it was 100 percent intentional,” one TikToker wrote.

Another commenter wrote: How could someone accidentally twist it all the way to the point of snapping? There is zero chance that this wasn’t intentional.

Others blamed Daniel and Shannon for the shocking turn of events, with one person saying it was an example of why only the father and mother of the unborn baby should reveal the gender.

“Why would you give everyone one? It’s kind of your own fault,” wrote one commenter.

“That’s why we opened the envelope at home. People don’t want to see you happy,” someone wrote.
